Date: Time Ended:

I. Objective:
a. Students will be able to Identify examples of each homogeneous and
heterogeneous mixture.
b. Students will be able to separate between homogeneous and heterogeneous
mixtures.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Describe the appearance and uses of homogeneous and heterogenous
mixtures
References: MELCS
Materials: Visual aids (images or videos of homogeneous and heterogeneous
mixtures), markers
Values: Cooperation
Integration: ESP, HEALTH
III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities:
Present Classroom rules:
Indicator 5: Established safe and secure environment to enhance learning through
the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures.

a. Motivation
 Shows picture of some pictures of an ingredient.

Ask: "What do you think happens when we mixed it together?"

Indicator 3: Applied a range of teaching strategies to develop critical and creative

thinking as well as other higher- order thinking skills.
B. Lesson Proper
C. Presentation
Shows video presentation to make 3 n 1 coffee https://youtu.be/p1tYy-
lqfys
HOTS:
Ask: "How is making 3-in-1 coffee different from brewing regular coffee with ground beans,
like when you make it yourself or use pre-made 3-in-1 coffee?"
Indicator 3: Applied a range of teaching strategies to develop critical and creative
thinking as well as other higher- order thinking skills.

2. Discussion

A mixture is when you put different things together. It is like making a

special recipe with different ingredients, such as mixing flour, sugar, and eggs to
make cookies. Each part keeps its own identity, but they all come together to
make something new.
HOTS:
Ask: “Think of other mixtures we use or make in everyday life?"

A homogeneous mixture is like when you mix things together and you cannot
see the various parts. It is all mixed so well that it looks the same everywhere,
like when you stir sugar into water until it disappears.

Ask:” Think of any other examples of things that mix together and it looks the
same everywhere?”

A heterogeneous mixture is when you mix things together, but you can still see
the various parts. It is like when you make a Sweet Potato (Kamote) Taro (Gabi)
Banana (Saba) Coconut Milk, Glutinous Rice Balls (Bilo-Bilo) Sugar Jackfruit
(Langka) Sago Pearls, water. You can see each part separately.
Indicator 4: Displayed proficient use of Mother Tongue, Filipino and English to facilitate
teaching and learning.

Ask:” Think of any other mixtures where you can see the different pieces?"
Ask:” Imagine you are on a cooking show contest, and you need to make a new
recipe. Would you use mixtures where everything looks the same, which one do
you think would be more fun to use?
Indicator 1: Applied knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas.

Indicator 2: Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner achievement in

literacy and numeracy skills.
Indicator 3: Applied a range of teaching strategies to develop critical and creative thinking
as well as other higher- order thinking skills.

3. Application
1. The teacher will divide the class into two group, For the Group
Activity (Using Differentiated Instruction)
2. Present the rubrics.
3. Distributes the activity sheet and other material needed for
each group.
4. Ask them to examine the samples and determine whether they
are homogeneous or heterogeneous.

Group 1- Activity Card

Identify examples of each homogeneous and heterogeneous
mixture, rewrite it according to their classification.
Group 2 – Activity
-Identifying Mixtures-
Sort the pictures into two categories Homogeneous and
Heterogeneous.

Rules in doing the activity:

Teamwork in every stride

Ideas flowing, share it right.
Make it quietly, motivation as your guide.
Everyone contributes with all their might.

Therefore, we must Value TIME.

Presentation of Output
Say: Each group will present their output in-front of the class and of course if you remember
the letter E in the Word Smile; E - Everyone participates and contributes to a positive and
supportive classroom environment and respect the group presenting in front.
Indicator 5: Established safe and secure environment to enhance learning through
the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures.

Indicator 6: Maintained learning environments that promote fairness, respect and

care to encourage learning.

4. Generalization
Ask: "How do homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures different in
appearance?"
IV. Evaluation
Direction: "Please select the correct answer from the options below."
1. Which of the following best describes a homogeneous mixture?
A) A mixture where different components can be visibly seen.
B) A mixture where components are evenly distributed throughout.
C) A mixture where components settle at the bottom.
D) A mixture where components are floating on the surface.

2. What is an example of a homogeneous mixture?

B) Soil.
C) Lemonade.
D) Sand and water.

3. In which industry are homogeneous mixtures commonly used?

A) Construction.
B) Pharmaceutical.
C) Automotive.
D) Agriculture.

4. Which of the following best describes a heterogeneous mixture?

A) A mixture where components are evenly distributed throughout.
B) A mixture where different components can be visibly seen.
C) A mixture where components settle at the bottom.
D) A mixture where components are floating on the surface.

5. What is an example of a heterogeneous mixture?
