I. Objective:
a. Students will be able to Identify examples of each homogeneous and
heterogeneous mixture.
b. Students will be able to separate between homogeneous and heterogeneous
mixtures.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Describe the appearance and uses of homogeneous and heterogenous
mixtures

Materials: Visual aids (images or videos of homogeneous and heterogeneous
mixtures), markers

III. Procedure

Indicator 5: Established safe and secure environment to enhance learning through
the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures.
a. Motivation
Shows picture of some pictures of an ingredient.
2. Discussion
A homogeneous mixture is like when you mix things together and you cannot
see the various parts. It is all mixed so well that it looks the same everywhere,
like when you stir sugar into water until it disappears.
Ask:” Think of any other examples of things that mix together and it looks the
same everywhere?”
A heterogeneous mixture is when you mix things together, but you can still see
the various parts. It is like when you make a Sweet Potato (Kamote) Taro (Gabi)
Banana (Saba) Coconut Milk, Glutinous Rice Balls (Bilo-Bilo) Sugar Jackfruit
(Langka) Sago Pearls, water. You can see each part separately.
Indicator 4: Displayed proficient use of Mother Tongue, Filipino and English to facilitate
teaching and learning.
Ask:” Think of any other mixtures where you can see the different pieces?"
Ask:” Imagine you are on a cooking show contest, and you need to make a new
recipe. Would you use mixtures where everything looks the same, which one do
you think would be more fun to use?

3. Application
1. The teacher will divide the class into two group, For the Group
Activity (Using Differentiated Instruction)
2. Present the rubrics.
3. Distributes the activity sheet and other material needed for
each group.
4. Ask them to examine the samples and determine whether they
are homogeneous or heterogeneous.
Presentation of Output
Say: Each group will present their output in-front of the class and of course if you remember
the letter E in the Word Smile; E - Everyone participates and contributes to a positive and
supportive classroom environment and respect the group presenting in front.
