TI-83 INSTRUCTIONS
To enter the data in LISTS:

Step 1: Press and 1 to choose 1:Edit to display the

stat list editor.
This is where you enter lists of data for statistics.

Step 2: To clear any lists, press and 4 to choose 4:ClrList

Press
to clear List 1 and List 2.

Step 3: Return to the stat list editor.

Enter the x values in List 1 by pressing
1 2 for example.
Enter the y values in List 2 by pressing
5 8 for example.

To obtain a SCATTERPLOT:

Step 1: Press and press 1 to select 1:Plot 1

Step 2: Set Plot 1 to ON

Select a scatterplot
Specify Xlist: L1 (press )
Specify Ylist: L2 (press ) as shown
in the screen dump at right.

Step 3: Press to display the window editor.

The X values should take into account the minimum and
maximum X values.
Likewise, the Y values should take into account the minimum
and maximum Y values.

Step 4: Press to draw the scatterplot.

Alternatively, press and press 9 to select 9:ZoomStat
to automatically scale the axes and plot the scattergraph.
To fit a QUADRATIC MODEL to the data:

Step 1: Press and use to select CALC.

Press 5 to select 5: QuadReg

Step 2: Press

Step 3: Press to view the equation of the quadratic model.
