MUSIC 1ST QUARTER
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
a. identifies the musical characteristics of representative music selections from the
low lands of Luzon after listening;
b. determine the musical elements, themes and moods present in vocal and
instrumental music from lowland of Luzon; and
c. appreciate the simplicity of Luzon’s lowland folksong.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Folk Songs from the Lowlands
References: MAPEH in Harmony 7
Materials: Book, Visual Aids, Speaker, Music, Laptop or Cellphone

III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance

B. Presentation
1. Lesson Proper:
a. The teacher will discuss the musical characteristics of music
selection from the lowlands of Luzon.
b. The teacher will discuss the different element, themes, and
mood present in vocal instrumental music of lowlands in Luzon.

C. Developmental Activities
a. The teacher will divide the class into five(5) groups. Students will
present the folksongs from the lowlands of Luzon.

D. Generalization
The teacher will review the lesson.

E. Evaluation
Essay: What makes Filipino music unique? Explain.

F. Assignment
Search what is Sacred Music: Liturgical.
