Autodesk’s partners frequently compete against each other in the marketplace, and it is critically important that all participants in this meeting observe all
requirements of antitrust laws and other laws regarding unfair competition. Autodesk’s long insistence upon full compliance with all legal requirements in
the antitrust field has not been based solely on the desire to stay within the bounds of the law, but also on the conviction that the preservation of a free
and vigorous competitive economy is essential to the welfare of our business and that of our partners, the markets they serve, and the countries in which
they operate. It is against the policy of Autodesk to sponsor, encourage or tolerate any discussion or communication among any of its partners concerning
past, present or future prices, pricing policies, bids, discounts, promotions, terms or conditions of sale, choice of customers, territorial markets, quotas,
inventory, allocation of markets, products or services, boycotts and refusals to deal, or any proprietary or confidential information. Communication of this
type should not occur, whether written, oral, formal, informal, or “off the record.” All discussion at this meeting should be strictly limited to presentation

AutoCAD MAP3D
Introduction

MAP3D is one of the available toolsets of the

AutoCAD toolsets family.

It comes with your standard AutoCAD features

but with the added benefit of getting access to
mapping capabilities.

Leveraging on MAP3D’s GIS to import various

map data to create site drawings for our
architectural design process.
MAP to ACAD
Converting map data to AutoCAD entities

In this workflow, we would be importing

data into MAP3D, followed by using
MAPTOACAD command to convert our
map entities into AutoCAD ones.

This will allow us to take the drawing out

of AutoCAD MAP3D and into AutoCAD
Architecture for further designing.

Project browser
Introduction

Create and manage all active projects.

Acts as a dashboard for the project.

Add and view project-centric information .

Create projects, switch between the current active

project and set up your project properties
Exploration of project navigator
Introduction

Project Navigator manages the complexity of architectural

projects within a project level.

It provides a centralized location for organizing project

constructs (drawings), views, and sheets.
Exploration of project navigator
Components
With Project Navigator, you can create and manage multiple
drawing files and related sheet sets and navigate between
them efficiently.

It also allows you to easily track changes made to the project,

and view the project, even when working in separate files.

Additionally, Project Navigator can assist with standards

checking, visualization, and project collaboration.
*It is important to note, when using project navigator, do not modify files via
file explorer

Massings

Creation of massing blocks
Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture's Mass
Elements are used to create conceptual
designs that can be used to generate
more detailed models.

Mass elements can be used to quickly

create and analyze building forms, and to
study space and mass design options.
They can also be used to study sun
shading, to evaluate space layouts, and
to analyze the building's orientation with
respect to its surroundings.

 Home Ribbon > Build > ‘Box’ drop down

 Tool Palette - Architectural > Massing

Split and Trims

 Trim by Plane
 Split by Plane

Massing post processing
Slicing Massing into levels
In this example we will convert the massing element into floor levels that can be used for GFA calculations and
further designs. Using the command AECSLICECREATE or ‘Slice’ in the Massing Architecture Tool palette
Massing post processing
Continued
With the individual slices we can

• Calculate GFA

• Create floorplans

Converting Mass element into Space entity

• Spaces can be used for organizing reports

such as statements of probable construction
cost, energy requirements and analysis,
leasing documents, operating costs and
fixtures, and lists of furniture and equipment.

Build Panel
Wall | Door | Window & More
The architecture toolset comes with a
host of ready to use building objects

These objects come in predefined styles

or customizable to your requirements
with style manager.

AEC objects remain editable and will

intelligently clean up when objects are
modified.
Style browser

 Style browser is home

to a host of object
styles ready to be
imported into your
drawings
o Apply styles to existing
objects or insert new
objects

 Style manager allows

customization of object
styles to fit your needs
Content browser and Design Center
Populate your drawings with the vast library of MVBlocks (Multi-view) and block references.

Access these assets from Content Browser or Design Centre .

• Multi-view blocks remain visible in all views, including sections and elevations.

• In AutoCAD Architecture 2024 more than 200 new assets are added.

Elevations and Sections

Building Elevations

There are two places in AutoCAD Architecture to

find Section and elevations tools. The first is on
the Home tab, Section & Elevation panel. The
other is in the Callouts palette on the Tool
Palettes.

The elevation line defines the extents of the

elevation view of your building model. Elevation
lines can be straight or jogged. You can also
specify the length and the height of the area
defined by the elevation line.
Building Sections

There are two commands, Vertical

Section and Section Line. They produce
the same results, except the Vertical
Section tool does not place an Annotation
Symbol.

Neither of these two tools are intended

for use with Project Navigator and
contract documents. For that, use the
tools from the Tool Palettes, Document
group, Callouts palette.

AEC3DPRINT
With AEC3DPRINT command, you can natively
export the AEC objects to an STL file format
that's compatible with 3D printing without
converting to 3D solids.

 Select all AEC objects you wish to

export

 Exclude objects with smart select
