LinkedIn Standardization Guidelines – IIM Kozhikode

You are required to update your LinkedIn profiles to ensure that they reflect the most recent information and meet the
mandatory requirements listed below.

● Display picture should be in Business Formals.

● Background image/Cover picture should be of IIM Kozhikode (use the attached image).
● In the absence of any IIMK POR, the headline should read as (for respective Program) –
o PGP Student at IIM Kozhikode
o PGP-LSM Student at IIM Kozhikode
o PGP-Finance Student at IIM Kozhikode
● If you hold an IIMK POR, then the headline should be your POR.
● Connections should be over 500, and you should have an All-Star profile.
● Write a summary about yourself. You can follow any of the methods listed below to create your summary.
o Mention all achievements in reverse chronology and separate them using a “|”
o Write a 50-word description about yourself in third person
● Follow the respective guidelines for each of the sections listed below:
o Experience Section:
▪ All relevant experiences (prior work-ex and internships) should be captured in this section.
▪ List all the experiences in reverse chronological order.
▪ Give a brief description of each of the experiences listed in this section.
o Education Section:
▪ Most recent education should reflect the following information:
➢ School – Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode
➢ Degree – Master of Business Administration – MBA
▪ Add other education details as per your discretion, in this section.
o Skills & Endorsements:
▪ Add all the skills that you would want to highlight about yourself to any potential recruiter.
o Recommendations:
▪ Try to get recommendations from your previous project guides/ managers/ professors.
o Accomplishments:
▪ Add all the relevant accomplishments/achievements in this section.
▪ Ensure that your CAT/XAT and similar examinations percentile is not mentioned anywhere in your
profile.

In addition to the above-mentioned changes, you are required to personalize the URL for your profile and ensure
that it captures just your name (should not contain any numbers).

● Expected profile URL convention – https://in.linkedin.com/in/johndoe

● Note that the following URLs will NOT be accepted:
o https://in.linkedin.com/in/johndoe-2abd56
o https://in.linkedin.com/in/johndoe456

Follow the steps listed below to customize your profile URL:

● Open your LinkedIn profile page

● Click on “Edit public profile & URL” option on the top right-hand side of the profile page
● A new window will open. Click on the edit option in the “Edit URL” section on the top right-hand side to customize
your URL
