Abstract
A real-time system for controlling volume through hand gestures. The system captures video
input and detects hands within the frames. Once a hand is identified, it analyzes key hand gestures such
as open palm, fist, and specific finger movements to determine the desired volume level. It can
recognize a range of gestures, including raising and lowering the volume, muting, and unmuting. The
system processes this information quickly to provide immediate feedback. The technology is practical
for various applications such as enhancing interactions between humans and computers, improving
accessibility for users with physical limitations, increasing convenience in hands-free environments,
and improving user experience in entertainment systems by understanding user gestures. By
implementing this project, we demonstrate a simple yet effective way to control volume in real-time.
This approach can significantly enhance user experience and service quality in many domains,
showcasing the potential of gesture recognition to make technology more intuitive and responsive to
human needs.
