Summer vacation is considered as one of the most important holidays for students and parents can
make the best use of this time period to enhance their ward's skills and help them adapt learning
new hobbies.
To ensure that the learning momentum continues beyond the classroom and to make the most of the
summer holidays in fostering continuous academic growth, the school is providing summer holiday

III. Project Three: Stock Exchange


The purpose of this project is to teach school students the values of investing and utilising the
stock market. This project also teaches important lessons about the economy, mathematics and
financial responsibility.
The basis of this project is to learn about the stock market while investing a specified amount of
fake money in certain stocks. Students then study the results and buy and sell as they see fit.
This project will also guide the students and provide them with the supplies necessary to
successfully monitor stock market trends and will teach students how to calculate profit and loss
on stock.
The project work will enable the students to:
 understand the topics like sources of business finance and capital market
 understand the concepts used in stock exchange

 inculcate the habit of watching business channels, reading businessjournals/newspapers and
seeking information from their elders.
You are expected to:
a) Develop a brief report on History of Stock Exchanges in India. (your country)

c) To make an imaginary portfolio totalling a sum of Rs. 50,000 equally in any of the 5
companies of their choice listed above over a period of twenty working days.
You may be required to report the prices of the stocks on daily basis and present it
diagrammatically on the graph paper.

Act.

POLITICAL SCIENCE
• Revise Chapter-1, 2 3 and 4 of Politics in India since Independence and prepare one source based
question and 5 MCQs from each chapter in political science register.
• Prepare a timeline of creation of states in India and mark them on the outline political map of
India.
• Go through both textbooks of Political Science, select a topic from your syllabus for the project
work and discuss with me. (Last date for the selecting the topic is 15 June). Find relevant materials
from books, magazines, newspaper and the internet. Prepare project synopsis and submit it for the
review after the summer vacation.
• Watch news on television and prepare a handmade news magazine showcasing important events of
the world. Besides written content the magazine should contain pictures, cartoon, maps and
graphs.
• Prepare a debate on the following topic for youth Parliament:
Freedom of speech and expression in India, with focus on impact of social media censorship and
measures to uphold democratic values.
