About the Design

This cute Crème Brulee Hoodie is a top-down sweater made with the raglan technique. We will
work the top part, then separate the sleeves from the body and then work the 3 parts
individually. The Hood is made at the end and the pocket in front also.
The Crème Brulee Hoodie is designed oversized with a 10 cm positive ease. If you want a
closer fit size down or make less rounds on the yoke.
About the stitch and technique
For this sweater we are using the half double crochet stitch. We will work in rounds, but we will
work on the right side and wrong side, so we will turn after each round.
About the pattern
The Crème Brulee Hoodie pattern is available for sizes from 2 years up to 8 years old and is
written in US terms. The final measurements of the sweater for each size are represented in the
diagram below:

*on the first line are the values in cm and on the

second one in inches.
*1 st value is for size 2 years. Between brackets
are the values for sizes 4, 6 and 8 years old.

Now that we have all the details to begin with, let’s start making this super cute hoodie.
As I said this sweater is a top down and we will start from the neck
But first the foundation chain:
2Y = 72 sts
4Y = 80 sts
6Y = 88 sts
8Y = 96 sts
Sl st to join the ends of the chain.
Yoke
*for the yoke the number of sts for sizes 4Y, 6Y, 8Y are written
between the brackets.
Start with the first color, in my case vanilla.
Round 1
Ch 2, 1 hdc in first 11 (12, 13, 14) sts, 1 inc (1 hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc) in
next st, 1 hdc in next 12 (14,
16, 18) sts, 1 inc in next, 1 hdc in next 22 (24, 26, 28) sts, 1 inc in
next, 1 hdc in next 12 (14, 16,
18) sts, 1 inc in next, 1 hdc in last 11 (12, 13, 14) sts. Join with a sl st
with the fist hdc. Ch 2 and
turn
Round 2
[1 hdc in each st until you get to the next corner (ch 2 space from the previous round), 1 inc in
the ch 2 space]. Repeat to the end of the round. Join with a sl st with the first hdc. Ch 2 and
turn.

We will repeat round 2 until we finish the yoke and have in total:
2Y = 17 rounds
4Y = 18 rounds
6Y = 20 rounds
8Y = 21 rounds

After finishing the yoke, we will separate the body of the sweater and the sleeves and start working the 3
parts individually.

Body
First 3 rounds of the body will be worked in the same color as we used for the yoke. After the first 3 rounds
we will change with the second color mango.
Round 1
Start the round as usual. 1 hdc in each st until you will get to the first corner. In first corner make 1 partial
hdc (yarn over, insert the hook, pull out a loop). Skip the sts for the sleeve and move to the next corner. In
the next corner make a second partial hdc and then yarn over and pull the yarn through all the loops on the
hook.
After finishing the front side and you reached the 3 rd corner, you will have to proceed the same as for the
first sleeve. Make one partial hdc in the 3 rd corner, skip the sts for the sleeve, 1 partial hdc in the 4 th corner,
yarn over and pull the yarn through all the loops on the hook.
Continue with 1 hdc in each st until you will get to the end of the
round.

From now on, you will have to work 1 hdc in each st around until
we will get to the desired length. Don’t forget at round 4 to change
the color.

You will have in total for the body:

2Y = 23 rounds
4Y = 26 rounds
6Y = 29 rounds
8Y = 33 rounds
After finishing the rounds for the body we will add a ribbed band made by working single crochet
sts in back loop only.
Ribbed Band

Chain 10 + 1, 1 sc in each of the 10 sts of the chain, sl st with
next 2 st of the sweater bottom and turn

1 scblo in each of the 10 sts, ch 1 and turn
Row 3
1 scblo in each of the 10 th(décimo) sts, sl st with the next 2 sts
of the bottom of the sweater.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you finish the entire circumference
of the hoodie. At the end join the ribbed band ends with sl sts.

After finishing with the ribbed band the body of the sweater
is done and we can start working the sleeves.

Sleeves
Insert the yarn to the armpit. We will work in rounds the same as the rest of the sweater, working on the right
side and on the wrong side.

Hoodie
For all sizes
Row 1
Start with 6 ch sts, and then make the first hdc in the 1 of the 2 middle sts
of the front side.
Continue with 1 hdc in each st until you get to the second middle stitch,
ch 8 and turn. We will make the hood wider because we will sew at the
end the edge to insert the cord.

Row 2
Starting with 3 rd(tercer) st, 1 hdc in each st to the end of the row. Ch 2 and turn
Rows 3 – 5
Repeat row 2
Row 6
On this row we will let 2 holes at the beginning and at the end of the row to insert the cord at
the end.
1 hdc in first 8 sts, ch 2, skip 2, 1 hdc in next sts until you have 10 sts left. Ch 2, skip 2, 1 hdc in last 8 sts.

Starting with row 7 all you have to do is to make one 1 hdc in each st until you have in total:
2Y = 32 rows
4Y = 35 rows
6Y = 39 rows
8Y = 43 rows
After finishing the length of the hood, fold it in half and join the ends with sl sts or sew them.
To finish the hoodie, fold the extension of 6 sts and sew it inside the hood, then make a cord ( I
made the cord from ch sts and then sl sts in each ch st) as long as you need it and insert it
through the hood’s double edge.

Pocket
The pocket is worked separately and then sewn to the front side. Start with a foundation chain:
2Y = 16 sts
4Y = 16 sts
6Y = 18 sts
8Y = 20 sts
Row 1
1 hdc in each st, ch 2 and turn
Row 2
2 hdc in the 1 st(primer) st, 1 hdc in each st to the last, 2 hdc in last st. ch 2 and turn
Rows 3 – 14 (3 – 16, 3 - 18, 3- 20)
Repeat row 2
Row 15 (17, 19, 21)
1 hdc in each st. You can make 1 more round in sc as a border and then sew the pocket to the front side of the
hoodie.
