SEISMIC HAZARD is the hazard related with probable
earthquake in a particular area. The possible hazard caused
by an earthquake is normally shown in a seismic hazard map
that shows how likely can a disaster affect the lives of
people living in that area and how can they prepare better
for the approaching disaster.
The volcano authority in the Philippines is the
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and
Seismology (Phivolcs).
The alert system used by Phivolcs runs from
Alert Level 0 (lowest) to Alert Level 5
(highest).
