Essay on myself
‘ Cross the stream where it is shallowest
No one can describe me better than myself. I am here to express myself in a few sentences,
though no one can be described in a few sentences ,one should have command on oneself
before going to write about themselves. Expressing my self is a way I see myself in this
world. I am honest, optimistic, enthusiastic and creative. Though there might be certain
constraints in me, it shouldn’t be the hindrance in the way I want to see myself. I am from
Karnataka. I am Pratiksha bennur. I live in an environment where I learn to self respect and
believe in my self. Nobody comes in this world without the support of our family and friends.
They are our backbone. Both my parents are an accountant. They love their occupation.
With their experience I have the learned the value of time, money, hard work and
commitment to the purpose. I love spending my leisure time wisely and on the things which
I enjoy doing. I love music and it is one of my favorite time when I listen to music. I got this
keen interest from my father who loves classical music. I am studying in a really good school.
I am presently in grade 10. I am deficient in some subjects whereas I am quite bright in some
subjects. I am particularly not good in anything but during certain situations I am good at
handling them. Aim and ambition is the inner aspiration of a man. I have keen interest in
biology. I aspire to choose my career in the field of biology. These are all the things which
express me. Thank you.
‘VASUDEIVA KUTUMBAKAM’
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit phrase that has been in
use for centuries in Indian philosophy and spirituality. It is
believed to have originated in ancient Indian scriptures such as
the Mahabharata and the Upanishads, which emphasise the
idea of universal brotherhood and the interconnectedness of
all beings. The phrase became more widely known in the
modern era due to its use in Indian literature, music, and
art.Over time, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam has come to be seen
as a symbol of India's cultural and spiritual heritage,
embodying the values of compassion, respect for diversity, and
a commitment to promoting peace and unity in the world. In
recent years, the concept has gained greater recognition and
popularity, with many organisations, governments, and
individuals embracing the philosophy as a way of promoting
global cooperation and understanding.
SANANTHAN DHARMA
Sanatana Dharma does not stress the ritual or the formal. It is
concerned with the development of the under spiritual wealth, the
atma-guna, which resides in the lotus of the heart of every
individual. Sva-dharma, Kula-dharma, and Yuga-dharma can obtain
worldly success and appreciation for an individual. Sanatana
dharma attains only an inner radiance through one’s own
conscience, by knowing that what one is doing is not only morally
important but externally precious.Since Sanatana Dharma by
definition transcends the limitations of time, place, and social laws
and customs, it implies openness to spiritual values and experience,
no matter where these are to be found. Sanatana Dharma therefore
is built upon catholicity and genuine tolerance, it seeks the best and
finest; it cherishes the permanent and the abiding. It honors the
deepest yearnings of the soul. All religions have temporal and
transcendental aspects. The temporal deal with the here and now –
the nitty gritty of social life and behaviour of forms and ceremonies
and experience. The transcendent is timeless and placeless – that is
why it is eternal.
My best friend

She came in like sunshine

Her presence felt like divine
She would bear my agonize
Even when deep inside she cries
She stood like a pillar
She was like a heart filler
She undertook my flaws
Even when it weren’t in her laws
She was pure gold
She couldn’t bear me cold
We held together very sturdy
Hoping our days would be pearly
All she did was made my life bright
Even if all it took were white lies

ROLE MODEL
My mother is a true gem. She is my true best friend. I aspire
to be like her. She is a very simple person who is passionate,
hardworking, honest and sincere in every thing she does.
She never fails to surprise us with her sweet gestures. She
likes to care for someone she loves the most. She never
misses an opportunity to find advantage in the smallest
things she does. These habits might be small but these are
very hard to sincerely follow. She went through a lot of
hustle and struggle yet today she stands as an independent
women and she has proven that she is capable of anything
and everything. Though she might have her own flaws she
doesn’t let that be her hindrance for whatever she has
committed. This is the reason why I should see her as a role
model as these habits will take you to greater heights.

ANEDOCTAL STORY
Your Personal Angel
A story about an angel who has been taking care of you even before you were born and will always take care no matter
how much you grow old.... you know that angel as Mother, Mamma, Mom...
My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to
support the family. There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so
embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school
one of my classmates said, ‘Eeee, your mom only has one eye!’ I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just
disappear. I confronted her that day and said, ‘ If you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?’
My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I
was oblivious to her feelings. I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a
chance to go abroad to study. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my
life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t
even meet her grandchildren. When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over
uninvited. I screamed at her, ‘How dare you come to my house and scare my children!’ Get Out Of Here! Now!’
And to this, my mother quietly answered, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,’ and she disappeared
out of sight. One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a
business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity. My neighbors said that she died. I did not
shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have. My dearest son, I think of you all the time.
I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children. I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you
were growing up. You see... when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t
stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gave you mine. I was so proud of my son who was seeing a
whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.
With all my love to you,
Your mother
