C. PHONICS
1. Cách đọc:

/u: / là một nguyên âm dài. Để phát âm âm


này,
bạn nên tạo khẩu hình môi tròn đồng thời
hướng ra phía ngoài. Lưỡi nâng lên cao và sâu
trong khoang miệng. Phía cuống lưỡi cong.
Đọc kéo dài âm “u”, âm phát trong khoang
miệng chứ không thổi hơi ra với độ dài hơi
tương đối dài.

/ʊ/ là một nguyên âm ngắn. Để phát âm âm


này, bạn nên tạo khẩu hình môi hơi tròn tròn
đồng thời hướng ra phía ngoài. Không dùng
môi để phát âm này mà đẩy hơi rất ngắn từ cổ
họng. Lưỡi hạ thấp, độ dài hơi ngắn. Lưu ý, âm
“u” ngắn có phát âm tiếng Anh na ná âm tương
tự âm “ư” của tiếng Việt
2. Cách nhận biết âm /u:/ và /ʊ/
Đến đây hẳn bạn đang thắc mắc rằng vậy khi nào u được đọc là /u:/ và khi nào được đọc là /ʊ/

Trong những trường hợp sau chúng ra sẽ phát âm là âm u dài hay âm /u:/:
 Trường hợp 1: “oo” sẽ được đọc là /u:/
Ví dụ: zoo /zuː/: sở thú, moon /muːn/: mặt trăng, loose /luːs/: đánh mất, choose /ʧuːz/ lựa chọn,
boost /buːst/ thúc đẩy, tăng cường, tooth /tuːθ/: răng.
 Trường hợp 2: “ue” sẽ được đọc là /u:/
Ví dụ: blue /bluː/: màu xanh, clue/kluː/: manh mối, tuesday/ˈtjuːzdeɪ/: thứ 3, due /djuː/: quá
hạn , glue /gluː/: keo dán.
 Trường hợp 3: “ui’ sẽ được đọc là /u:/

three and a half years now and I am getting better at it every time I decide to play. Playing

Guitar or guitars also give my room some personality. When it hangs on my wall it
