ABSTRACT

Crowd funding has evolved as a significant instrument for people and

associations to create assets for a great many purposes, counting ambitious
assignments and social drives. Before long, many individuals of the crowd
funding stages that are as of now being used concentrate principally on monetary
exchanges, much of the time overlooking the chance of different kinds of
commitments also, the support of a few partners. This disregard makes a
significant hole in tending to non-financial necessities and including the bigger
local area. Current stages too have limits, like restricted partner investment, an
absence of straightforwardness, and weakness to deceitful movement. Because of
these constraints, we propose a book crowd funding web application that
reclassifies the traditional model by embracing variety what's more, inclusivity
across the environment.

As well as working with money related gifts, our stage integrates the
essential elements of directors, NGOs, contributors, and calculated organizations.
The capacity to make actual commitments and select among fixed and adaptable
financing decisions enables contributors to broaden the range of their help past
their monetary means. In the in the meantime, non-administrative associations
can send off crusades, search for financing, and work with strategies accomplices
to actually disseminate help. Moving unmistakable gifts and keeping up with
straightforwardness through continuous updates are basic errands performed by
strategies organizations.

By encouraging cooperation among assorted partners, our stage tends to

the limits of current crowd funding models and offers a far-reaching answer for
meet the developing necessities of the local area. Through improved
straightforwardness, responsibility, and inclusivity, we plan to catalyse positive
social effect and drive significant change in the crowd funding scene.

CHAPTER - I

INTRODUCTION

A new method of financing that raises money online has emerged in

recent years and extends beyond the conventional financial resources provided
by banks, business angels, and venture capital firms. This type of securing
capital is called crowd funding, and it permits adventures and people to settle on
an immediate decision by means of the web to general society to fund-raise for
imaginative and new ventures. "Crowd funding" describes a method by which
financial backing is solicited from the public over a set timeframe through an
open online request either as a donation with no expected returns or in exchange
for future products or rewards in monetary or other forms.

Crowd funding and crowd funding stages contrast essentially in their

method of activity. Based on what backers get in return for their contributions,
various crowd funding models have been proposed. For example, value shares,
an item or administration or other non-money related remunerates pretty much
representative or a specific loan fee. These three kinds of crowd funding
highlight altogether different methods of activity and are typically dissected
independently. In this study we centre around only one of these kinds by
especially breaking down non monitory crowd funding.

Non monitory crowd funding contrast in the thought processes of the task
initiators and allies and consequently are much of the time portrayed
independently in the writing. Distinguishing donation-driven efforts from
reward-motivated support proves challenging when put into action. So
frequently in individual lobbies for rather low gifts more modest, more
representative trade merchandise are offered though in similar mission for
rather high reward merchandise with a critical financial worth are advertised.
As a result, donation based exchanges are also covered by the majority of

1
reward-based crowd funding platforms and campaigns.
Our group financing stage remains as a signal of straightforwardness and
trust, rethinking the scene of gathering pledges through creative elements
intended to advance responsibility and cultivate certainty among all partners.
Continuous following, straightforward correspondence channels, and hearty
detailing instruments act as points of support, developing a culture of
straightforwardness and trust inside our local area. We accept that by embracing
these standards, we prepare for significant coordinated effort and feasible social
effect.
Through the execution of flexible financing models, smoothed out cycles,
and information driven experiences, our foundation supports advancement in
raising money methodologies. By bringing the donors, NGOs, and Logistics we
make a cooperative environment where thoughts thrive, and assets are
proficiently designated to boost influence. This cooperative energy drives
monetary and non-monetary help as well as works with information trade and
vital organizations, enhancing the adequacy of every drive.
By utilizing the frontend frameworks like HTML, CSS, JavaScript for
user-interface and backend frameworks PHP, and MySQL, for organized
storage of data and authentication purposes we've fabricated a user-friendly
platform that empowers consistent communication and information driven
direction. Utilizing open-source software like Visual Studio Code and Xampp
server has decreased advancement expenses to zero as well as epitomizes our
devotion to availability and local area driven development.
The aim of the idea is not only about raising money but also pave a
medium to facilitate non-monetary form of donations and provide users a
secured experience with diverse user roles.

2
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE APPLICATION
A new era of crowd funding has been made possible by the development
of contemporary communication technologies like smart phones and high-
speed internet. Existing crowd funding platforms have saturated user roles (i.e.
Donor and fund requesters), absence of non-monetary (physical item) donation
facilities lacked the number of supporters and the right to track the donations.
The Crowd funding web application aims to transcend these constraints and
advance a more inclusive and participatory environment for all users.

1.2 SCOPE OF THE PROPOSED WORK

Facilitate diverse community engagement by enabling users to register as
Donors, NGOs, and Logistics. To maintain credibility, access to accounts of
NGOs and Logistics is provided by the administrator after the document
verification. Donors have the facility to choose either fixed or flexible forms of
donations. Fund requests can be streamlined through posts. To maintain
content integrity users can report fake fund request posts with proper details.
The progress of the non-monetary forms of donations can be tracked through
geo-tagged images which must be uploaded by the Logistics. Monetary form
of transactions are carried out securely by using secured payment gateways
like Stripe and Pay pal enhancing user confidence and trust.

CHAPTER-II
LITERATURE SURVEY

Pandey et al. (2019) highlighted the loopholes in the Indian charity

platforms. The platforms are likely to be involved in risks such as corruption. To
solve the security risks and in the view of providing a secured and transparent
platform, the authors decided to design a platform using Blockchain technology.
The resultant application was designed with decentralized storage architecture,
Distributed Ledger Technology and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). [1]

Daventa et al. (2022) studied about the crowdfunding platforms in

Indonesia. They observed that the majority of crowdfunding platforms are used
based on emergency cause or need. To expand the application of crowdfunding,
the authors designed ARtopia, a Mobile Application based crowdfunding
platform to support artists and content creators seek help when they face
copyright and online piracy issues. [2]

Maryani et al. (2020) developed a web-application to facilitate business

investors to search according to their interests. The application was designed
using Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) method and notations
were implemented using Unified Modelling Language (UML) standard. The
preferences of the investors are asked in the form of a survey and the results are
given to the user based on their responses. [3]

Sujaritha.M et al. (2022) highlighted the lack of transparency and money

control in the crowdfunding platform for the investors. There was no proper
guarantee that in the existing platform that the money invested is completely
used for a cause. Keeping assurance as the main key a decentralized blockchain
and smart contract-based application was proposed. [4]

4
Beier and Wagner (2016) studied user behaviour in the well-known
crowdfunding platforms in Switzerland. They observed that the target of the
campaigns is achieved on the first days of the campaign. The tendency to follow
the actions of others, have a notable impact on the success of crowdfunding
campaigns. To optimize these campaigns, researchers and crowdfunding
platforms must understand and utilize user behaviour. [5]

Mora and Palos-Sanchez (2023) studied existing crowdfunding platforms

focusing on the Reward, Equity, and Lending categories to implement a better
idea for future needs. The review identified that crowdfunding platforms as an
alternative for financing are becoming popular. They stressed the importance of
future research into technology factors and decision-making processes in
crowdfunding ecosystems. [6]

Moritz and Block (2014) reviewed the existing crowdfunding literature,

categorizing it according to some important segments such as capital seekers,
providers, and intermediaries. They identified drawbacks in existing research
and proposed solutions for future investigation, stressing the importance of
understanding the roles and interactions of various users within crowdfunding
ecosystems. [7]

Lopez-Golan et al. (2016) looked into the possibility of using charity

donation to help Ecuadorian filmmakers make movies. They came to know that
websites could promote cooperation in the creative arts and increase financing
accessibility. [8]

P.S. Tejashwini et al. (2023) studied the growth of crowdfunding

platforms as other financial source. The study found mistakes in traditional
platforms like high costs and no transparency. The authors came up with
Blockchain technology as the key. They lodged a secured and budget-friendly
crowdfunding platform using Blockchain technology and Smart contracts that

5
gave complete control over money along with openness. As a whole, the
literature study emphasized the platform's ability to transform crowdfunding
and encourage people-to-people transactions. [9]

Mehra et al. (2023) studied cryptocurrency and its advantages.

Cryptocurrencies help business people generate money in a decentralized and
secured manner. Crypto currency system are clearer and has full control over
donated money than old crowdsourcing platforms. The authors studied that
cryptocurrencies can help businesses in bringing their capitals at international
levels, improve transparencyand reduce transaction expenses. They also stressed
that cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin also have demerits like market state, security
issues and many more. Furthermore, the authors discussed Solidity, a high level
programming language which can be used for creating Smart contracts for
crowdsourcing platform. [10]

Shelke et al. (2022) studied the influence of social media and the internet
on crowdsourcing. They also stressed that Blockchain technology would be a
good option for crowdsourcing because of its segregated and non-changeable
qualities. Blockchain-based crowdfunding applications help gaining more funds
due to their secured design. The main part of crowdfunding is building trust
between investors and stakeholders. The paper also stated that Smart contracts
in crowdsourcing platforms help to make tasks in an automated manner. [11]

Gada et al. (2021) studied the demerits of crowdfunding platforms.

Traditional platforms were hazardous and would cause issues such as data leaks,
high transaction fees and fraud risks. The study introduced a model built using
Blockchain technology and decentralization. Furthermore, the review through
Ethereum-based crowdfunding platform vowed transparency in crowd funding.
[12]

6
Patil et al. (2021) highlighted the importance of transparency and security
in crowdfunding platforms, particularly in ensuring trust between backers and
startups. They proposed a blockchain-based crowdfunding web application
designed to provide assurance to backers while maintaining transparency in
project progress. By incorporating smart contracts, the platform aimed to
automate transactions and provide real-time updates to stakeholders. The
authors emphasized the multi-user nature of the application, catering to
administrators, backers, and startups, thereby offering a complete solution for
crowdfunding needs. [13]

Rao et al. (2023) studied blockchain-based crowdfunding platforms,

focused on addressing fraud, enhancing transparency, and improving security.
They discovered the adoption of smart contracts as a key mechanism for
handling fund spending and ensuring contributor protection. The authors
emphasized the importance of a blockchain-based platform that not only allows
for safe and decentralized crowdfunding but also serves as a marketplace for
financed works, emphasizing the ever-changing nature of crowdfunding
ecosystems. [14]

Priya et al. (2021) studied about the cybercrimes held in crowdfunding

platforms. The study introduced a fraud-proof crowdfunding platform by using
Blockchain technology. The platform was developed using Smart contract
protocols and campaigns using Remix software. The campaign has the right of
accepting and denying fund requests, thus it ensures a cybercrime-free
environment. [15]

Teng et al. (2022) studied the mistakes in existing donation platforms

concerning user rights and other benefits. In the view of providing a trusted
atmosphere to users, a Blockchain-based Crowdfunding platform with Smart
contracts was proposed. The application was designed using fungible, non-

7
fungible tokens , on-chain governance, abstracting and encapsulating a series of
activities. [16]

Zhao et al. (2020) studied impact of crowdsourcing through social

groups. In a deep study of user behaviour they found that supporting
crowdfunding via groups resulted in an increase in user expenses. The study
shown Person-Organization fit theory and Free-rider theory in combination with
Machine-Learning techniques. The review stressed on finding mistakes in
existing funding models and provide new lending models with better outcomes.

17
3.3 SELECTION OF COMPONENTS, TOOLS, DATA COLLECTION
TECHNIQUES, PROCEDURES, TESTING METHODS, AND
STANDARDS

3.3.1 Development Tools:

We built a dynamic and responsive interface using HTML, CSS, and

JavaScript core languages that allow users to have an outstanding experience on
any device with ease. With Bootstrap for example, we provide smooth
functionality whether one is accessing via a mobile phone or personal computer.
PHP on the other hand acts as our reliable and flexible backend framework that
efficiently processes users’ actions thus making our web application more
effective.

3.3.2 Database Management:

Therefore, we rely on relational databases to effectively manage user

registrations, posts, campaigns, and related data in organized tables. To store
and retrieve data efficiently while maintaining stability even as the amount of
data grows larger, we chose MySQL which is known for scalability.

3.3.3 User Authentication:

User data security and privacy exist at the highest-level possible point of
significance that cannot be compromised at all cost for any reason whatsoever.
To this effect we employ robust authentication strategies which help ensure that
personal information and interactions are kept secret from unauthorized people
thus creating confidence amongst users regarding their privacy.

3.3.4 Verification Process:

Our verification process for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

and Logistics focuses on confirming their true identity. This is done by verifying
the personal details of NGOs, Logistics which had been submitted during

18
registration and ensuring that membership is indeed legitimate. By doing this
important step we will be able to reduce the legitimacy of our platform by
limiting only legitimate NGOs and logistics from accessing it.

3.3.5 Interactivity:

Real time interaction is a fundamental part of our application’s user

interface. Our use of Ajax allows for asynchronous communication between
client and server which creates a fluid, responsive experience. These enhance
user satisfaction and engagement which are key in creating lively user
experiences amongst others such as real-time updates and interactions etc. We
make users interact with our application without feeling a pinch through
enabling smooth communication driving higher levels of satisfaction thereby
enhancing user experience.

3.3.6 User Interface:

In order to ensure customer satisfaction, it is important to consider an

intuitive and responsive user interface design and make design decisions that
would combine all levels of technological competence into one user friendly
environment. By designing the interface in such a way will foster ease of use
and make the platform available to a wide variety of users.

3.3.7 Testing and Quality Assurance:

We use stringent testing processes to make sure the application is reliable

and functional. This includes unit testing to verify the functionality of individual
components, integration testing to guarantee seamless interactions between
multiple modules, and user acceptability testing to verify that the application
meets user expectations. This commitment to quality assurance ensures a stable
and reliable platform.

19
3.3.8 Continuous Improvement:

We create an ongoing update/enhancement cycle framework upon which

the application can grow. With this framework, it becomes easy to quickly adapt
to changing customer’s needs and technological advancements in the industry at
large .This supports its long-term sustainability thus ensuring that it remains
effective, efficient and capable of meeting new customers’ expectations.

Abstract
Crowd funding has evolved as a significant instrument for people and associations to create assets for a great
many purposes, counting ambitious assignments and social drives. Before long, many individuals of the crowd
funding stages that are as of now being used concentrate principally on monetary exchanges, much of the time
overlooking the chance of different kinds of commitments also, the support of a few partners. This disregard
makes a significant hole in tending to non- financial necessities and including the bigger local area. Current stages
too have limits, like restricted partner investment, an absence of straightforwardness, and weakness to deceitful
movement. Because of these constraints, we propose a book crowd funding web application that reclassifies the
traditional model by embracing variety what's more, inclusivity across the environment. As well as working with
money related gifts, our stage integrates the essential elements of directors, NGOs, contributors, and calculated
organizations. The capacity to make actual commitments and select among fixed and adaptable financing decisions
enables contributors to broaden the range of their help past their monetary means. In the in the meantime, non-
administrative associations can send off crusades, search for financing, and work with strategies accomplices to
actually disseminate help. Moving unmistakable gifts and keeping up with straightforwardness through continuous
updates are basic errands performed by strategies organizations. By encouraging cooperation among assorted
partners, our stage tends to the limits of current crowd funding models and offers a far- reaching answer for meet
the developingnecessities of the local area. Through improved straightforwardness, responsibility, and inclusivity,
we plan to catalyze positive social effect and drive significant change in the crowd funding scene.

INTRODUCTION
A new method of financing that raises money online has emerged in recent years and extends beyond the standard. This
type of securing capital is called crowd funding, and it permits adventures and people to settle on an immediate decision by
means of the web to general society to fund-raise for imaginative and new ventures. "Crowd funding" describes a method
by which financial backing is solicited from the public over a set timeframe through an open online request either as a
donation with no expected returns or in exchange for future products or rewards in monetary or other forms. Crowd
funding and crowd funding stages contrast essentially in their method of activity. Based on what backers get in return for
their contributions, various crowd funding models have been proposed. For example, value shares, an item or
administration or other non-money related remunerates pretty much representative or a specific loan fee. These three
kinds of crowd funding highlight altogether different methods of activity and are typically dissected independently.
