1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this method statement is to describe the procedure for installation of
FAS Panel at Godrej GCR, Gurugram project as per the requirements of the project
contract specification & relevant standards.
This method statement will ensure that all related activities are executed in compliance
of the project specification requirements, safety & Quality measures are implemented
throughout the progress of works.

2. SCOPE

This method statement covers the Supply, Installation, Testing Commissioning and
Handing Over of Complete FAPA System in accordance with the Technical
Specification and as per approved TDS without any deviation for complete project
wherever work has been specified as per drawings.

4. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY

SECTION • To ensure that the works are carried out according to the provisions of
IN- contract.
CHARGE • To ensure that all the equipment’s, tools, and tackles required to execute
the works according to approved construction Schedule are available in
good condition and provide any additional equipment that might be
required.
• To ensure all the equipment’s / vehicles are handled by skilled operators.
• To provide all necessary support to his execution team and ensure that
the works are carried out as per the approved Method
Statements/procedures.

• Co-ordinate with site engineer, Safety Engineer, Quality Engineer, and


frontline supervisors for safe & proper execution of the works.
• To ensure that levels are jointly being signed by the contractor and Client
representative
• To continuously check the progress of works & update the progress by
quantity wise as well as pictorial representation like drawings along with
the photographs.
• To ensure Client approval on all checklists / permission as and when
required.
SITE • Understanding the drawings prior to start of work.
ENGINEER • Compliance to EHS and QA/QC requirements prior to commencement
of work.
• Engaging workmen in work and monitoring their productivity.
• Cross checking the activities intermittently during day’s work and
ensuring the activity is done within tolerance limits.
• Avoiding cost of rework.
• Mobilizing the materials required for work prior to start of work.
• Preparing safe to work card for all activities and giving PEP talk based
on the safe to start work card as part of the work instruction to workmen
working under him highlighting the risk involved in the task.
• To ensure safety of work men working in his area. To ensure proper
working platform with access to keep materials.
• To ensure proper housekeeping at site at the end of day’s work.
• Timely preparation of sub-contractor bills based on their work done
quantity.
• Ensuring implementation of proper work methodology for all activities.
• Preparation of all checklists and certification of works from Client.
• All appropriate logistic plan shall be followed. Understanding EHS
requirements of project from EHS plan, EHS management systems, EHS
Manual & following the same in execution of work.
SAFETY • Shall advice in maintaining safe working environment & conditions and
INCHARGE compliance to Project EHS Plan. Shall facilitate in EHS Risk analysis
(CLIENT) and ensure required preventative measures.
• Identify potentially unsafe acts, areas and practice and educate people.
• Monitor EHS practices, persuade to minimize noncompliance.
• Report incidents beyond control and unsafe occurrences.
• Investigate unsafe occurrences and initiate preventive steps.
• Discuss near miss incidents with staff and workmen.
• Conduct safety training programs.
• Maintain Health & Environment related aspects as per the norms.
• Identifying project specific hazards, risk assessment and determining
control measures as low as reasonably practicable for the project.
• Verified PTW (Permit to work) based on WMS and RA.

5. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Proper Access & Egress will be ensured before and till the completion of work. Work
areas will not be obstructed.
• Safety clearance (Permit to Work) to be obtained prior to commencement of works.
• Proper illumination to be maintained at work area during work as per illumination plan.
• All workmen will wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) like safety
helmets, gumboots/safety shoes, reflective jackets etc. and also wear job specific PPEs
as per requirement.
• Safe procedure for unloading, shifting, stacking, transportation, erection should be
explained to crew before start of work
• Scaffolds will be properly erected and verified by the authorized scaffold inspector.
• Material handling will be done in proper manner and as per procedure.
• Inspection of all electrical equipment to be done.
• All safety control measures to implemented as per relevant HIRA.
• Workers will carefully operate the hand tools and machinery with proper care and
safety.
• Routine Inspection to be done by site engineer/supervisor to ensure working conditions
before commencing of works.

6. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Machinery/Tools/Equipment’s engaged to carryout works are as follow:

7. MATERIALS

7.1 Description of Material

• All materials (FAS Panel & PA rack) will be as per BOQ, Project
Specification & approved TDS of the project.
• Material of approved make/manufacturer to be used.

7.2 HANDLING AND STORAGE OF MATERIALS


• Material handling is to be done in proper & safe manner.
• No person other than the unloading team to be in the vicinity of the unloading area and
cordon off the area.
• Only trained gang should be used for unloading activities.
• Safe access to location for movement of man and material to be provided
• All lifting equipment will be inspected before use by safety department.
• Under no circumstances, material not to be thrown down from the carriers or be dragged
or rolled along hard surfaces.
• Check the material for any visible damage while unloading and damage material, if any
will be sorted out & kept separately. Information of damaged material to be
communicated to vendor/supplier.
• Unloaded material should be kept with safety
• The storage area to be kept in proper Manner, Logistics to be discussed beforematerial
delivery well in advance.
• Material not to be dropped on hard surfaces and will not be dragged along the ground.
Material to be stored in such a manner that it is be free from damage due to environmental
conditions

8. WORK PROCEDURE

8.1 Pre – Installation

• Must follow the latest revision of approved GFC/Shop drawing.


• Only approved material to be used for installation at site.
• Work permit or clearance given with another agency or client/ consultant.
• Shift required resources tools / tackles and materials to desired location.

8.2 Procedure for Installation of FAS Panel

• Site Supervisor will carry out a site survey and mark the point of Panel, as per approved
shop drawings. If there are any discrepancies or difficulties in executing the work, these
will be brought to the notice of Project Engineer for corrective action.
• Arrange necessary scaffolding as per the requirement.
• Make the termination of Power from Input of the Panel.
• Check for Voltage, Earthing and UPS supply.
• Check for Loop card connections.
• Check for Cables terminations inside the Panel
• Check for cable dressing inside Panel is properly done
• Check for Cable tagging

8.3 . Procedure for Installation of PA Rack

• Site Supervisor will carry out a site survey and mark the point of Rack, as per
approved drawings. If there are any discrepancies or difficulties in executing the
work,these will be brought to the notice of Project Engineer for corrective action
• Secure the chassis to the rack. Make sure that air can circulate freely Inside the
chassis for adequate ventilation. Do not cover or block the vent of Amplifier rack
• Install relay Module For zone controlling as per requirements
• Check for cable Termination in relay Module and Amplifier.
• Install the Amplifier inside the rack.
• Cable termination done inside rack in Amplifier.
• Check the cable tagging and Device Tagging.

• Check for the workmanship of work executed.

9. QUALITY CONTOL PROCEDURE

• All Installation work will be carried out under controlled supervision at all stages.
• All Inspection & testing will be as per approved Inspection Test plan.
• All material to be inspected by quality engineer and MIR (Material Inspection Request)
record for same will be maintained.
• All work to be carried out as per approved drawings.
• Regular process checks for the work to be done.
• All works shall be inspected for conformance to specification.

10 INSPECTION
• All Inspection & testing shall be as per approved Inspection Test plan.
• All record shall be maintained as per project specification.

11 TRAINING

• Training shall be imparted to Engineers, Supervisors, and workmen on the


requirements of this complete Method Statement, ITP & Checklist.
• Daily preparatory talk and work orientation of workmen shall be done prior to start of
work at site and regular training will be ensured to improve the workmanship.

12 HOUSEKEEPING

• Housekeeping of workplace area to be ensured by section Incharge & Engineer in


coordination with safety personnel of respective area.

13 RISK & CONTROL

• Anticipated Risk & Control Measures to execute the activity shall be as per: EHS Risk
Assessment Matrix (refer attachment).
