I, Musinguzi Benard, a student of Muni University, hereby declare that this internship report
submitted to Muni university as part of the requirements for the completion of my internship in software
development is a comprehensive and genuine representation of my internship experience.

I have completed my internship at Powell Pay Limited under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Kiwanuka
Samuel. The duration of my internship was from 21 st May 2024 to 21st July, 2024. During this period, I was
actively involved in in different software development operations(DevOps).

I affirm that the information and data presented in this report are authentic and have been collected during my
internship period. I have adhered to the ethical guidelines, maintained confidentiality, and respected the
privacy of Powell Pay Limited.
Furthermore, I acknowledge the invaluable support and guidance provided by my internship supervisor, Mr.

I dedicate this internship report in software development to the Late Reverend Fr. Nsaali Mukasa Andrew, Rev
Fr. Asaba Charles, my university supervisor Mr. Wambi Enock, and Dr. Ali Guma, Mr. Kiwanuka Samuel, my
family and friends.

CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION.

1.1 Background to the internship exercise


Muni University, located in Arua -West Nile, Uganda, stands out as a leading institution of higher
education, renowned for its emphasis on technology and innovation. The Faculty of Technoscience offers
diverse programs, including Information Technology, designed to equip students for careers in the ever-
evolving field of technology and its various industry applications.
As an Information Technology student, I have had the privilege of learning from esteemed faculty members
with extensive expertise in integrating technology into business processes. Muni University's curriculum
emphasizes a balanced approach, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills development. This
approach ensures that students are well-prepared to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
Internship Experience

As part of the academic program, students undertake internships to gain hands-on experience and apply
classroom concepts and principles to real-world scenarios. This internship provides an invaluable
opportunity to explore the field of technology in a professional setting, allowing students to contribute to
organizational objectives through the application of their skills and knowledge.

1.2 Objectives of the internship program


The objectives of my internship were as follows:
The internship program is aimed at helping student build professional skills in the work environment
through enhancing problem-solving abilities, improve practical skills and as well develop project
management skills.

It’s also meant to improve the industrial exposure and experience among students through learning industry
trends, build professional/interpersonal relationships through team work and client interactions.

To gain practical experience in applying information Technology principles and methodologies in a real-
world environment.

To contribute to the organization's objectives by leveraging information Technology to enhance efficiency,


effectiveness, and decision-making.

To collaborate with professionals in the field and learn from their expertise, while also bringing a fresh
perspective and innovative ideas
