forces of member countries into crimes with an international dimension.
The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) is the world's largest international
police organization with 192 member countries. The INTERPOL was founded in 1923 and its
headquarter is located in France.
Only police can work for INTERPOL. The General Secretariat employs around 1,000 staff
members from 100 different countries. Approximately one-third are police officers deployed by their
governments while two-thirds are international civil servants recruited by the Organization.
Established as international criminal police commission in 1923
