PROJECTS
Obstacle Avoidance based on Scene Depth Perception using Stereo Camera
Successfully performed obstacle avoidance in real time despite the low computational power of Jetson Nano.
Main parts:
o Depth maps using block matching.
o Obstacle avoidance strategy based on depth maps and object detection
o Design and manufacturing of mobile base
Quadcopter for Aero Category of NERC 2022
Second runner-up in the National Engineering Robotics Competition 2022
Main parts of the quadcopter:
o 250mm frame paired with 2200kv BLDC motors for high speeds
o Flight controller used: SP racing F3 FC
o Software used: Cleanflight
Fruit plucking robot for Indigenous category of NERC 2023
Reached quarter finals in the National Engineering Robotics Competition where teams from all over Pakistan
participated, by 3D printing the base, hence reducing the weight and increasing the speed of the bot.
Main parts:
o Atmega328p based Arduino MEGA
o 3D printed base allowing for high speed and low-torque motors
o Ripe fruit detection using TCS3200 color sensors
o Front and reverse line following using TCRT5000 IR Array
o Mechanism control using MG996 and SG90 180° servos
Digital Compass
Developed a digital compass using MPU9050.
Main parts:
o MPU9050, stepper motor, and Arduino NANO.
o Used values of Yaw from the sensor to rotate stepper motor
o Communication protocol: I2C
