1. GENERAL
The method statement for the Chilled Water Pipe and Low Temperature Hot Water Pipe
Installation Procedure in SINDALAH VILLAGE CLUSTER-01 NEOM is controlled and
implemented by NESMA, according to the specifications as well as consultant’s/client
instructions.
2. SCOPE/OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE
This method statement provides guidance for the installation of Chilled Water and Low
Temperature Hot Water Pipes, ensuring full compliance with all relevant project standards,
technical specifications, approved shop drawings, and relevant international codes & to
Establishes minimum guidelines and responsibilities for the Issuing/receiving of work
permits, and for certifying those responsible for implementing the System.
This method statement gives guidelines contained herein to ensure that the job execution
complies with the requirement of the Specifications and the authorities concerned and
serves the intended purpose to satisfactory level. And to ensure the installation and testing
are in compliance with the specifications, standards, and project-specific requirements.
This procedure is applicable to all Chilled Water and Low Temperature Hot Water Pipes
installation activities, including components such as Pumps, Chillers, FAHU, AHU and FCU
connections, valves, identification, supports, etc.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1 Project Manager
Responsible for ensuring that the works are performed according to specifications and
reports directly to the Contracts Manager. Will attend all weekly site meetings.
NESMA Site Engineers nominated by NESMA’s Construction Manager has the responsibility
to supervise and coordinate all the site activities of NESMA.
NESMA Site Engineers have the responsibility to ensure that the work is fully coordinated
with other on a day to day basis. NESMA Site Engineer have the responsibilities for
organizing and supervising the transportation of the materials to in co-ordination with the
other departments to ensure that the hoists, cranes and the platforms are efficiently
allocated and utilized. NESMA Site Engineers will also ensure that approved and agreed
safety practices and procedures are fully implemented.
5.4 QA / QC Manager
NESMA QA/QC Manager will check/Involve a strict internal quality control and inspection to
ensure that the work is executed fully in accordance with the requirements of the contract
specifications and drawings.

5.7 Surveyor
NESMA Surveyor under the direction of the nominated Site Engineer has the responsibility
to establish the main reference and levels to check the same at regular intervals.
6. EQUIPMENT/TOOLS/MATERIALS

- Pipe cutters, threading machine, hole cutter
- Welding equipment, soldering iron, crimping tools
- Safety goggles, gloves, dust mask, ear protection

- Pipe insulation, mastic sealant, caulking gun
7.1.5 Site Engineer / Supervisor also ensures that all tools and equipment’s are available are
in good and safe working condition.
7.1.6 NESMA QA/QC Engineer/inspector shall check all the installation activity as per the
Inspection Check list.
7.1.7 Inspection Request shall be prepared by NESMA Engineer and will be submitted to the
consultant for inspection and approval.
7.1.8 Contractor is responsible for all installation activities and for getting the work
inspected /approved by AECOM / NEOM Representative.
7.1.9 Required power supply, Cable connection and disconnection, Equipment shift
arranged by Nesma.
7.1.10 CHW & LTHW Pipes shall be installed as per approved shop drawing and site
condition and made of Black Steel, except where specifically stated otherwise or as
indicated on the approved shop drawings.
7.1.11 All CHW & LTHW Pipework shall be coordinated with other services to ensure access
to execute the works.
7.1.12 Consideration to the sequence in which the work shall proceed is necessary.
8.1 Storage
8.1.1 Carefully lower pipes to prevent damage during off-loading.
8.1.2 Store pipes properly to prevent abrasions and damages.
8.1.3 Stack and cover delivered pipes for protection from dust.
8.1.4 Store valves, fittings, etc., in enclosed areas per manufacturer’s recommendations.
8.2 Pre-Works
8.2.1 Prefabricate pipework in an off-site facility by an approved fabricator.
8.2.2 The fabrication shall be carried out in a neat and workmanlike manner, with all internal
and external surfaces free from projections and sharp edges.
8.2.3 The Pipework fabricator shall prepare manufacturing drawings from the approved shop
drawings, showing detailed dimensions for the different composite parts, such as elbows,
branches, Tees, Reducers, etc.
8.2.4 Conduct a site survey to mark the pipe routing and support locations as per the
approved drawings.
8.2.5 Coordinate the piping layout with other services to ensure no clashes and minimal
bends/offsets.
8.2.6 Ensure that there is sufficient clearance around pipes for insulation and cladding
applications.
8.2.7 Clean and apply primer or red oxide to all seamless black steel pipes before
installation to prevent corrosion.
8.2.8 Fabricate pipe sections from approved materials per project specifications.
9.2 Coordination
9.2.1 Coordinate with Civil & Electrical for services interfaces.
9.5 Testing
9.5.1 Submit an inspection request for the chilled water piping installation to the consultant..
9.5.2 Follow safety protocols during testing.
9.5.3 Record and report test results for approval.
