III. MECHANICS/GENERAL GUIDELINES

The general and game-specific mechanics have been attached for your perusal. Please take note, however, of possible
amendments in the general guidelines.
1. Eligibility and Forfeiture of Athletes
a. An athlete must be a bona fide student of Pangantucan Community High School and must be officially enrolled in the
current school year – S.Y. 2022-2023.
b. An athlete must be of sound mind and body when entering the assigned courts. If an athlete has any comorbidity,
disease, illness, or disorder that may hamper his/her playing activity, he/she is advised to forfeit his/her slot as a
player in their year level. Given the aforementioned enumeration of physical and psychological aspect of the student
may hinder other players as well.
2. Orientation and Deadline
a. Failure to send a representative in the orientation will result in a deduction of ten (10) points for every general or
game-specific orientation not attended. The points will be deducted from the Overall Intramurals Score of the Year
Level concerned. This is to ensure that all teams are well informed of the guidelines and to avoid confusion due to
misinterpretation of the guidelines.

Page | 3
b. The official deadline of the submission of all athletes per event to the Sports Office is on November 11, 2022.
- The Year Level that fails to submit on the time will be granted a grace period until November 14, 2022. But there
will be a deduction of five (5) points for every day of delay after the official grace period.
- Submission of entries beyond the grace period will result to a bigger deduction of fifty (50) points from the Overall
Score. This is to facilitate the early screening of the entries by the Tournament Managers, as well as to give leeway
to those who fail to submit on time.
3. Technicalities
a. An athlete must not use profanity during or after the game. Usage of such words is a deduction to the overall points
of the year level during the tabulation of scores. Profanity is a great misconduct that should not be tolerated during
the event and greatly discouraged, hence, the gravity of the offense.
b. An athlete must not bring with him/her any hard liquor during and after the tournament or may be influence with
liquors. A player(s) who is/are influenced with liquors are automatically disqualified from the affected tournament.
This is a considered to be a serious offense and will be dealt with accordingly.
c. An athlete must not bring cigarettes or may have used cigarettes during and after the tournament. A player who is
caught or even smelled cigarette will be automatically disqualified. This is a considered to be a serious offense and
will be dealt with accordingly.
b. An athlete must always be punctual. Forfeiture of the game will be executed when a player fails to comply with the
allotted time period. Deduction of points will be implemented during the tabulation of scores
c. Deduction of points will be implemented during the entirety of the Intramurals. 1 point is deducted every time
tardiness and profanity are observed by the officials during and after the game.
d. A player(s)/official(s)/team(s) found to have committed any of the violations/infractions hereunder mentioned shall
be banned from the tournament affected. Furthermore, if a player(s)/official(s)/team(s) commit a second offense,
he/she shall be banned from all the tournaments during the intramurals. This is to clarify the penalty of banning from
a certain event after an infraction.

IV. VENUE GROUND RULES FOR PRACTICES

The schedule of the different practices has been released with due consideration of the complaints from the teaching
force. Thus, the following important ground rules are issued:
1. In case of unfavorable weather and the venues are wet, practices are hereby cancelled until the venues dries up.
2. For those who plan to practice on weekends, a letter must be sent to the Administration Office for proper
communication and to also deny certain individuals to galivant around the campus. Names of those who will
practice should also be sent to the Sports Office for due information.
3. In case a foreign team or organization will book for the usage of facilities of the school, the Sports Office is
discouraging the booking in the month of November to December for the urgency of practices of students in
their respective tournaments. The Sports Office may strongly advise the exclusivity of the PCHS students for the
said duration.
4. The school is primarily a teaching institution; thus, a conducive environment free from unbearable noise is
imperative for the learning process to work. In this light, all year levels are required to patrol their practicing
teams as well as the spectators/onlookers in order to lessen the noise to a more bearable condition for those
having classes. Furthermore, all teachers have the right to STOP the practices should the noise becomes
unbearable
V. PRACTICES OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS
The Year Levels have the prerogative to conduct practices in other appropriate venues, aside from the school’s facilities.
However, words of caution are imperative: security, safety, and health of the practicing teams must be the primary
considerations of the year levels in choosing outside venues. The Year Level or the team coach, shall be held responsible
for any untoward event.
1. The year level coaches must give due notice to the Sports Office of the whereabouts of any practices to be done
outside the campus.
2. The year level coach must also personally give due notice to the parents/guardians of the practicing students.
This will prevent students with evil motives from taking advantage
3. No practices are allowed without the presence of any faculty.

Page | 4
VI. T-SHIRT
Below are the designated team colors, as duly determined by the faculty and staff during the recent faculty session:
YEAR LEVEL COLORS
DOMINANT SECONDARY
GRADE 7 Green Black/White
GRADE 8 Yellow Black/White
GRADE 9 Red White
GRADE 10 Blue White
GRADE 11 Black Pink
GRADE 12 Maroon White

Each Year Level has the prerogative to choose whether or not they will tailor their T-Shirts or just bring what is available
in each student. In case a year level opted to tailor their T-Shirts, the following must be duly noted: Year Level Coaches or
Managers must make sure that T-shirt orders must be released or distributed on the agreed time. Thus, it is imperative to
have a contract between the Year Level and the T-Shirt Supplier.

VII. POINT SYSTEM

After all applicable deductions have been made to the main category per general guidelines; Athletic Events, Cultural and
Academic Events shall be added up to determine the Over-all Champion. Each category is dependent of the other.

The following point system will be utilized in the computation for each category:
