Crown Pattern!

Materials:
Yarn: Any worsted weight. I used Indigo Dragonfly's MCN
Worsted.

Needles: US Size 7 (4.5 mm) 16” circular.

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers (optional).

Gauge
8 sts = 2” (5 cm) in stockinette. (Gauge is not incredibly
important; the fit is pretty flexible.)

Sizing
Small fits up to a 16” diameter, medium up to 20”, large up to 24”.

Pattern Stitches
ssk: slip slip knit.
k2tog: knit 2 together.
sl2tog: slip two stitches knit-wise.
p2sso: pass 2 slipped stitches over.

Pattern
Headband:
CO 54 [Medium: 72, Large: 90], join in round. I used the long tail cast on, though any moderately
stretchy one will do.
K one round.
(K3 P3) until end of round. Repeat for 1 inch.
* K two rounds, P one round. Repeat from *
K one round, placing stitch markers after every 9 stitches.

Peaks:
Row 1: ssk, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k2tog. Turn work.
Row 2: 3 x (p1, k1) p1. Turn.
Row 3: ssk, k1, p1, k1, k2tog. Turn.
Row 4: P2, k1, p2. Turn.
Row 5: ssk, p1, k2tog. Turn.
Row 6: p1, k1, p1.
Row 7: sl2tog, k1, p2sso. Bind off remaining stitch and cut yarn.

Attach yarn at next stitch in round, and repeat rows 1 through 7. Repeat until end of round.
