Director’s Message

Dear Freshers (and of course, all the students of IEHE),

It is that time of the year again when I, on behalf of the Institute for Excellence
in Higher Education, Bhopal, take immense pleasure in welcoming you to our family.
We are all familiar with the emotions surging within you—the anticipation and
excitement of being a part of a new world. You are standing on the threshold of great
changes and new dreams, and we, at IEHE, are committed to helping you realize those
dreams. At the cost of sounding partial, I also wish to add that you are very special to
us as you are the first batch to be admitted to an A+ graded IEHE. It was around the
same time last year (July) that we created history as we were accredited by NAAC
with an A+ along with a CGPA of 3.45, branding us as an institute par excellence. At
the same time, I also take this opportunity to welcome our third, fifth and seventh
semester undergraduate students and our third semester post-graduate students as
well. We are eager to see you again after the summer vacations as the campus wore a
very deserted look without all of you.

This summer break we have touched dizzying heights of success. I am

extremely gratified to share with you that, perhaps for the first time in the history of
IEHE, Bhopal, 10 of our students have qualified MPPSC Examination 2021 (results
declared on 6th June, 2024). Ms. Ankita Patkar (Mathematics Honours) has broken new
grounds by bagging the first rank in the Deputy Collector examination. We very
proudly proclaim that we can now include a Deputy Superintendent of Police, an
Assistant Taxation Officer, an Assistant Labour Officer, Assistant Treasury Officers,
and Commercial Tax Officers, amongst our alumni today.

IEHE, Bhopal, is a young institution and such achievements only inspire us to

set new goals and meet new challenges. Established in 1995 as a Model Higher
Education Institute by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh to promote academic excellence,
the Institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research degree programmes
across various disciplines of Science, Humanities, Commerce and Management. Since
the very beginning, we have been labelled as an institution with a difference. The
Institute has been fully autonomous and has been accredited with an A grade, right
from its first cycle. IEHE denotes quality and its commitment to excellence has been
evident in all spheres. Our teaching faculty has received several awards and honours
in the fields of education, research, and social service. Our students have won
numerous accolades in academics, sports, and/or cultural events at state and national
levels, and our alumni too, through its multi-faceted achievements, have firmly placed
the Institute on the national map.

As you enter our institution, we promise you an unparalleled academic

experience. IEHE, Bhopal, is known across the state of Madhya Pradesh for
maintaining stringent academic standards. Curricula and/or syllabi are thoughtfully
curated, classes are run with clockwork precision, and examinations are never a one-
day affair but are dispersed throughout the year so that students have the opportunity
to learn and re-learn. To bolster the academic experience of the students, we have
always sought to establish linkages with institutions of national importance, through
MoUs, in order to promote academic collaboration, research, and student exchange
programmes.

Our Institute prides itself on its transparency and accountability. There is a very
robust feedback system which allows students to assess/analyse the performance of
the teaching faculty regularly. We seek to make systems of governance in our Institute
as student-friendly as possible. IEHE boasts of state-of-the-art infrastructure which
include a Wi-Fi enabled campus, well-equipped laboratories, library, and modern
classrooms, thereby providing a blend of traditional as well as digital learning tools to
the students. Through the Vocational Cell, and committees such as Udgam and
Udghosh, to mention a few, the Institute serves to hone your entrepreneurial skills as
well as help you with career counselling and planning, placements, and skill
development programmes to enhance employability.

IEHE represents a dynamic, diverse and an inclusive community which

nurtures excellence, talent and creativity. We aim to create well rounded, socially
aware citizens not only of India, but of the whole world. Education today, especially
since the inception of NEP 2020, has sought to re-define the contours of knowledge.
Holistic education is the need of the hour and is, therefore, the only way to student
development. So, you are now a part of a very vibrant culture which will encourage
you to rise and shine in every sphere, be it academics, sports, cultural activities, or
social initiatives. Extracurricular activities/competitions at the college/inter-
college/university/state/ national level provide a platform to promote diverse talent
across the student community. IEHE has a plethora of Clubs, Societies, and Cells,
through which it engages in various community service and extension activities. Our
NCC and NSS units as well as our flagship programmes like Harit Vasundhara and
Aarogyam will instill in you the desire to contribute to the society and environment
in more meaningful ways.

Having said that, please remember that good ranks and grades do not imply
success, for life is incomprehensibly bigger and a greater teacher. As you embark on
this journey, you may meet with disappointments or failures but you will also form
lifelong friendships, learn the value of time, integrity and responsibility. So, the mantra
to succeed is to never lose balance in life. Accept and cherish each experience for it
will be part of your bittersweet memories. Always seek guidance whenever in doubt
and I promise that you will find each and every member of the IEHE family standing
beside you. Your parents have placed great faith in us and we will never let them
down. Have a positive attitude, turn every challenge into an opportunity and learn to
explore the world around you.
