*INTENTION: PRAY FOR RESTORATION OF JOY*

*MEDITATION*

Psalms 51:12 - Give me back the joy of your salvation, sustain in me a generous
spirit.

Psalms 30:5- In the evening come tears, but with dawn cries of joy.

Jeremiah 30:19- From them will come thanksgiving and shouts of joy. I shall make
them increase, they will not decrease; I shall make them honoured, no more to be
humbled.

Jeremiah 31:13- The young girl will then take pleasure in the dance, and young men
and old alike; I shall change their mourning into gladness, comfort them, give them
joy after their troubles;

Hosea 2:15- I mean to make her pay for the feast-days on which she burnt incense to
the Baals, when she tricked herself out in her earrings and necklaces to chase
after her lovers, and forget me! -declares Yahweh.

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins
because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God,
Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of
Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of Sin. Amen

*Come Holy Spirit*

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of
your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew
the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the
faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy
His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

I salute you, St. Anthony, lily of purity, ornament and glory of Christianity.
I salute you, great Saint, cherub of wisdom and seraph of divine love. I rejoice at
the favors Our Lord has so liberally bestowed on you.
In humility and confidence I entreat you to help me, for I know that God has given
you charity and compassion, as well as power.
I ask you, by the love you felt toward the Holy Infant Jesus as you held Him in
your arms, to tell Him now of the favors I seek through your intercession.

O glorious favorite of God, in humble reverence I petition you to grant me what I

so urgently ask for, and I will make known your goodness and holiness, thereby to
honor and glorify Him who has so greatly blessed you. Amen.

*DAY 9 - PRAYERS*

O holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for his
creatures made you worthy while on earth to possess miraculous powers. Miracles
waited your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or
anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me the favor I
seek in this novena

(State your intention).

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so, you are the saint of
miracles. O gentle and loving Saint Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human
sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Infant Jesus, who loved to be
folded in your arms, and the gratitude of my heart will always be yours.

Lord, help me as I seek to renew and refresh my relationship with thee. When in
pride and arrogance I have gone in a different direction, show me your way. I have
tried to make it and fake it, but there is no other way, but through thee. Grant me
your peace, which passes all understanding. Grant me your joy which has no limit.
Grant me your salvation which transcends death. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior we pray. Amen.
