7.1.3 Vessel Acceptance

7.1.3.1 Once the on-hire inspection report is finalized, QA&CU will forward the same, along
with a list of all deficiencies, to VAT to assess and recommend whether to accept the
vessel or not.

7.1.3.2 If the vessel is found acceptable by the VAT and signed by the Marine Manager, the
final acceptance letter will be sent to the Contractor.

7.1.3.3 In the case of vessels with lower specifications, Contractor is to acknowledge the letter
prior to authorizing the bunkering of the vessel for fuel and water and allowing it to
work within Saudi Aramco.

7.1.3.4 For Full Charter Contracts (LFCs), the approval of the Marine Manager or his
delegate is required for final acceptance.
7.1.3.5 For SFCs, MFCs and RPOs, the Proponent Division Head or his delegate shall
approve the final acceptance.
7.1.3.6 For Full Charter Contract (LFCs), below are the scenarios with their respective
recommendations:
Scenario 1
If the nominated vessel is the permanent and meets or exceeds requirements of
Attachments I and III to Schedule B, then the Vessel will be accepted as Permanent.

Scenario 2
If the nominated vessel is the permanent with lower specifications in either
Attachments I and III to Schedule B or both, then the Vessel will be accepted as
Substitute.

Scenario 3
If the vessel is not fit for service due to safety “stop” items, Contractor shall rectify the
deficiencies subject to Saudi Aramco inspection before a final acceptance letter is
issued and the vessel could be placed on-hire.
7.1.3.7 For SFCs, MFCs and RPOs, below recommendations to the following scenarios will
be followed:
Scenario 1
If the vessel is fit for service and meets or exceeds the specifications in the Vessel
Data Sheet, then the Vessel will be accepted as Permanent.
Scenario 2
If the vessel is fit for service but lower than the specifications in the Vessel Data
Sheet, negotiation shall occur for a lower rate.
