Description Of Change: New power train software group is now used on the machines listed
above. The new power train software group inhibits neutral coasting condition and thereby limit
the planetary over speed condition.

Adaptable To: The following change is adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers,
and is effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.

The new software part numbers are listed in Table 1.

Software Update Procedure

1. Download Product Status Report (PSR) with old software.

2. Download Electronic Control Module (ECM) replacement file.

3. Flash new software to machine.

4. Reload ECM replacement file back to ECM.

5. Download PSR with new software.

The new software is available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service
Information System (SIS). A newer part number may be available. SIS web only displays the
latest available flash file.
