TYRE HANDLER INSTALLATION
GENERAL
Each installation of the SGEPPL Tyre handler may differ slightly. Therefore, this section
contains only general information, and should be used as a reference for your particular installation.
Carefully read and understand this section before attempting to install the Tyre handler.

VEHICLE COMPATABILITY
`The tyre handler will permanently adapt to a front - end loader which has sufficient capacity and
stability as per the tyre handler specification. The original bucket of the wheel loader should be removed
and tyre handler to be coupled with the wheel loader.

Typical tyre handler hydraulic installation include:

 Control valve installation – all the hoses from the functioning units (main rotary unit, gripper
rotary unit and toggle cylinders) are connected to the control valve (4 spool DC valve) provided
with tyre handler. The Control valve is placed in the Cabin and the hoses from the tyre handler
(i.e., hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors) are connected to it.
 The Pressure line and Tank line for the Tyre handler to be taken from the wheel loader (ensure
that the wheel loader has Pressure line & Tank line readily).
 The Pressure line and the tank line are connected to the DC valve fixed in the cabin.
 For placing the DC valve in cabin, there provided a DC valve stand which can be fastened in the
cabin floor and can be modified according to the cabin space.

For all installations, the tyre handler requires hydraulic fluid pressure of at least 80 to 100 bar.
For handling heavy tyres like 27.00R49, the pressure should be at least 100bar.

CONTROL VALVE INSTALLATION

Carefully examine the interior of the cabin of the wheel loader to determine the best possible
location to place the control levers. After choosing a desired location fix the provided valve stand in that
location. It may become necessary to cut a hole in the cabin in order to provide for routing the hydraulic
hoses from the tyre handler to the control valve.

CARRIER VEHICLE
The tyre handler can be installed on any loader having sufficient lifting capacity and stability.
The tyre handler is usually equipped with a vehicle mounting plate, unless specified by the customer.
The tyre handler will be easily coupled with the wheel loader using this vehicle mounting plate. It is
mounted by using vehicle mounting pins provided along with the attachment. Check all lubrication
points for adequate lubrication. Operate the wheel loader to check for unobstructed vertical movement.
Determine whether stop blocks may be required in order to prevent the tyre handler from coming in
contact with the carrier vehicle. Install stop blocks if necessary, to prevent damage to the tyre handler
and/or carrier vehicle.

TESTING
Raise the tyre handler to provide adequate clearance for operating all tyre handler functions.
Operate all tyre handler functions and check for leaks.

Test the unit at rated capacity, and note any points of instability. Add counterweights if needed.

If the carrier vehicle is articulating, make certain that steering of the vehicle is not hindered by
the routing of the hydraulic hoses. Check for any possible point where hoses may be subjected to
excessive wear.

WARNING
STAY CLEAR OF ALL PINCH POINTS WHILE OPERATING THIS UNIT. FAILURE TO
COMPLY MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

NOTE
IF THE OPERATION OF THE TYRE HANDLER FUNCTIONS APPEARS ERRACTIC, IT
MAY BE NECESSARY TO ELIMINATE AIR FROM THE SYSTEM.

LOADER INSTALLATION

1. Mount the tyre handler to loader arms using the pins provided along with the tyre handler.

2. Provide pressure line & tank line for the control valve of the tyre handler. The pressure should

be about 80 to 100 bar.

3. Locate the control valve inside the cabin of wheel loader, where convenient to operate.

4. Connect the hoses from the tyre handler to dc valve cabin. Also provide pressure line & tank line

for the control valve.

5. Check all the hoses for clearances. Make sure steering or moving the arms will not pinch or stress

the hoses. Route the hoses accordingly.

6. The tyre handler will require 20 to 40 liters of hydraulic oil according to the model. So it is

necessary to fill the hydraulic oil in wheel loader’s hydraulic tank.

7. Start the loader’s engine and operate all controls to purge the air from the system. With the loader

running, check for leaks and repair if necessary.

8. Recheck all hoses for clearances.

9. Again check the hydraulic oil level in wheel loader.

10. Test operate the tyre handler with rated capacity.

WORKING PROCEDURE OF TYRE HANDLER

SOP OF REMOVING PUNCTURED TYRE FROM DUMPER:

 Before using tyre handler, please check the hydraulic oil level.

10
www.sgeppl.in.net
Make sure all the fasteners are removed in dumper for removing tyre. Once
all the fasteners were removed, move the tyre handler towards the tyre to be
remove.

Gently place the gripper of tyre handler on the two sides of tyre. Gently clamp
the tyre with required pressure.

11
www.sgeppl.in.net
Once tyre is clamped with gripper, move the tyre handler backward to get out
the punctured tyre. Place the removed tyre at the required location by lowering in
ground very smoothly.

SOP OF RE-ASSEMBLY OF REPAIRED TYRE TO DUMPER:

Lift the new or repaired tyre, rotate it up to 90 degrees, then move forwards
towards the tyre mounting body.

12
www.sgeppl.in.net
Move the tyre handler forward and attach the tyre to the dumper

Lock the fasteners Match all the rim lock holes to the fasteners in dumper axle
by tilting and rotating the tyre as required.

13
www.sgeppl.in.net
Ensure body rotation should not exceed more the 50° in either direction to avoid
hose breakage.

Once above process is completed, gently de-clamp the gripper from tyre and
move the tyre handler backward.

HOW TO USE TYRE HANDLER:

 Do the functional operations one by one, Don’t do any kind of two or more operations at same
time.
 While holding the tyre, driver should ensure movement of wheel loader at the safe speed and
avoid rash driving.
 While placing the tyre, the tyre handler should be flat straight and don’t drop the tyre to fall on
ground.
 Only use tyre handler for tyre replacement and for tyre stacking purpose.
 15 days once need to tight all the fasteners in tyre handler.
 30 days once grease to applied.
 Ensure the lifting load(tyres) should not be more than 5Tons.

NOTE: Above all operations to be done very gently.
