Friendship High Level Code of Conduct

Purpose and Scope


To ensure that all Friendship employees are abide by the expected set of Code of Conduct in
all their official dealings within office environment as well as with third parties,
donors/doctors/vendors/stakeholders/visitors/beneficiaries/communities/volunteers/interns,
governments, and governments personnel.

This code of conduct applies to all FRIENDSHIP employees and affiliates/stakeholders related
to Friendship in particular Donors, Doctors, Volunteers/Interns, Journalist, Suppliers/Vendors
and Visitors – anyone related to Friendship activities or work.

Code of Conduct

1. Perform your responsibilities with honesty and integrity.


2. Perform your responsibility in a professional manner that protects the
Organizational image and reputation.
3. Build relationships with stakeholders and fellow employees based on trust.
4. Treat every individual with respect and dignity.
5. Do not harass the employees or others with whom Friendship has dealings.
Harassment may include, but is not limited to, physical contact; written and oral
remarks, gossip, jokes and teasing, insulting or offensive language and comments;
and bullying, where persons in authority abuse their position through insulting,
threatening or malicious behaviour.
6. Friendship has a policy on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
and maintain ZERO Tolerance principle in this regard.
7. Friendship has a policy on Child Protection and maintain ZERO Tolerance principle
in this regard.
8. Do not speak or gossip against the Organizational policies or decisions. If there
are any specific recommendations for improvement on the above, employee may
share it to the appropriate authority e.g. Human Resources (HR) Central Service
or even send mail to ED.
9. Avoid any activities that could involve in any unlawful practice or harm to the
Organizational reputation. Don’t take anything-Food, any gift or borrow from the
community. Don’t buy anything from the community/beneficiaries.
10. Provide accurate information in records submitted.

11. Safeguard the Organizational confidential information, and respect the confidential
information of others e.g. employee’s salary information, personal confidential file
(PCF) etc.
12. Cannot participate in religious or political movements.
13. Confidential information regarding projects, finance, admin, donors etc. of the
organization cannot be given or leaked out if any.

Uphold these standards in the conduct and approach. If a decision about a particular action is
not covered specifically by this Code, employees are required to seek guidance from their
supervisor or Human Resources & Organizational Development (HR & OD) Central Service.
Be informed that, senior management should be a role-model for these standards by visibly
demonstrating compliance, and by regularly encouraging adherence. Conduct with the code
of conduct, failure to do so will subject employees, including supervisors who ignore prohibited
conduct, to disciplinary action up to and including separation from employment with the
organization.
