EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 05

SERIES OF 2022
“AN ORDER RE-ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE (BNC)
OF BARANGAY TUMIAO, LAMBAYONG, SULTAN KUDARAT”

WHEREAS, the vision of the National and Local Government on Nutrition Program is to achieve a
nutritional adequacy for all to strengthen the country Human Resources;

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 96-03, dated May 31, 1996, requiring the
activation/reactivation of Nutrition Committee at the barangay level in order to be viable functional and
effective in the integration/implementation of nutritional programs and activities into barangay development
plans;

WHEREAS, the Nutrition Committee’s function is to formulate action program, coordinate, monitor
nutrition activities, conduct periodic field visit and meeting to assess program implementation, serve as
resource group, and come up with nutritional action plan;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Council in its special session after deliberation and through discussion
given attention was the creation and reorganizing of the Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) of Barangay
Tumiao, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat;

WHEREAS, Article 359 and 360 of the Civil Code of the Philippines provides the government to
establish the protection of children to address the concerns, issues, and benefits of the children considering the
children are the hope of future generations;

WHEREAS, the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160), and Presidential Decree No. 603, to
coordinate and implement policies and programs, projects, and activities for the protection of children which
include nutrition.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, HON. RAYMUNDO Q. SOBRERA Jr., Punong Barangay of Barangay

Tumiao, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, by the powers vested in me by law, do hereby organize the Barangay
Nutrition Committee (BNC) of Local Government Unit of Barangay Tumiao.

SECTION 1 – COMPOSITION: The Barangay Nutrition Committee are composed of the

following:

SECTION 2 – FUNCTIONS: The Barangay Nutrition Committee shall be responsible for delivering
nutrition services and other related activities such as community health, backyard food production,
environmental sanitation, culture, supplemental feeding, and family planning to the barangay as stated efforts:

 Formulate a Barangay Nutrition Action Plan/Program (BNAP)

 Coordinate the nutrition program and activities of the barangay
 Conduct “Operation Timbang” under the supervision of RHU
 Prepare a “Spot Map” of the barangay
 Conduct capacity/capability-building programs for BNS/BNC
 Perform such other functions as may be delegated or provided by law

SECTION 3 – MEETING AND QUORUM: The majority of the members of the committee
constitute a quorum. The BNC shall hold regular quarterly meetings to monitor program implementation and
accomplishments.

SECTION 4 – BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS: The BLGU shall allocate funds in the Annual
Budget needed for the implementation of the nutrition program and activities in the BLGU.

SECTION 5 – EFFECTIVITY: That this Executive Order shall take effect immediately.

I HEREBY CERTIFY the correctness of the above-quoted executive order.
