1.0 PURPOSE
The purpose of this instruction is to :
1.1 Standardize the Check List Forms of the Electrical activities which will be
performed during the different stages of the project and used by the Site
Discipline Supervisor (SDS) for the Electrical works as per contract bases for the
electrical construction activity.
1.2 Define the responsibilities for different parties involved in this Instruction.
1.3 Standardize the Electrical forms covering :

Electrical Commissioning Check Lists

6.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT MANAGER (EDM)
EDM shall:
6.1.1 Revise and approve the revisions and/or deviations to this instruction if
specifically required in a project.
6.1.2 Approve this instruction and revise when needed.
6.1.3 Coordinate with Company Instructions Coordinator (CIC) for new official
revision.

6.2 ELECTRICAL LEAD ENGINEER (ELE)
ELE shall:
6.2.1 Assign Electrical Engineer (EE) for preparing the Electrical Check List Forms.
6.2.2 Review, check and get the approval of the EDM or his authorized delegate on
the Electrical Check List Forms.
6.2.3 Issue the Electrical Check List Forms to EL.
6.2.4 Keep record of the Electrical Check List Forms in project filing.
6.3 ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (EE)
EE shall :
6.3.1 Prepare the Electrical Check List Forms for the electrical construction activity
related to the concerned project in coordination with Construction Department
and Commissioning & Start-up Supervisor.
6.3.2 Submit the Electrical Check List Forms to ELE for checking.
6.4 ENGINEERING LEADER (EL)
EL shall :
- Revise the Electrical Check Lists, as necessary after ELE checking, for
approval and issue to the Construction Site Manager (SM)/ Site Discipline
Supervisor for the Electrical Works (SDS).
6.5 SITE DISCIPLINE SUPERVISOR (SDS)
SDS shall :
- Submit complete set from the Electrical Check Lists to the Construction
Contractor.
- Use the Electrical Check Lists, during the different stages of the project.
- Complete all signatures related to the Check Lists from the authorized
personnel (contractor/client).

7.0 CONFIDENTIALITY
In general the Electrical Check List Forms shall be issued to the successful
Construction Contractor; unless otherwise required by project instructions.
8.0 INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 GENERAL
8.1.1 Using the Electrical Check List Forms for all projects but it can be adapted in a
special project.
8.1.2 The Electrical Check List Forms shall be issued as a part of the project
documents (depending on the contract bases) to the successful Construction
Contractor.
8.1.3 The Electrical Check List Forms are grouped into three sections :
- Pre-installation activities
- Mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities
- Commissioning activities
8.1.4 The hard copy of the Electrical Check List Forms listed in Appendices 1.0, 2.0
& 3.0 are available in the Electrical Department and are stored also on the
computer.
8.2 THE ISSUANCE STAGES SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS :
8.2.1 EE shall check the project electrical documents such as : Electrical

specifications, the relevant electrical main equipment, electrical systems, ....
etc; then prepare the applicable Check List Forms.
8.2.2 ELE shall check the conformity between the project electrical
equipment/materials and the Electrical Check List Forms.
8.2.3 The EDM (or EDM authorized delegate) shall approve the Check List Forms.

PREINSTALLATION ACTIVITIES.
1.0 GENERAL
The Electrical Construction Contractor shall be responsible of the pre-installation

checks of the electrical equipment and materials . This shall include, but not
necessary be limited to, the visual examination and checking of electrical
equipment and materials before the installation stages. These process shall
prevent the installation of electrical equipment and materials that require
replacement at a later stages and shall ensure that the materials received at site are
complete and meet the design specifications and functioning correctly.
These checks shall generally be performed at the warehouse, however, for some
materials, which must be transported to the place of installation (e.g SWG'S &
MCC panels) it can be carried out on this place. Item 2.0 includes all the electrical
preinstallation forms which indicate the checks required to be made for the
electrical equipment and materials. The preinstallation checks shall be carried out
by the Electrical Construction Contractor and supervised/approved by ENPPI
Electrical Construction Supervisor and Client.
