 What are the ordinal numbers?

• They are numbers designating the place

occupied by an item in an ordered sequence.
• We use ordinal numbers to talk about the
"order" of things or to define a thing's
position in a series.
 Example:
• Luis finished at the first place in the running race.
• Mary was second and Marcos got the third place.
