Comparison คือ การเปรียบเทียบ ซึ่งในบทนี้จะเน7นไปที่การเปรียบเทียบคำคุณศัพท? (Adjective)

และคำกริยาวิเศษณ? (Adverb) โดยมีอยูU 3 ขั้น คือ ขั้นปกติ ขั้นกวUา และขั้นสูงสุด

1. การเปรียบเทียบขั้นปกติ (Positive Degree) เพื่อแสดงความเทUาเทียมกัน

โครงสร7าง: S + V. to be + as + adjective + as
S + V + as + adverb + as
เชUน Henry is as tall as his brother.
Billy runs as fast as Mark.

2. การเปรียบเทียบขั้นกวFา (Comparative Degree) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบระหวUางคนสองคนหรือสิ่งของสองสิ่ง

โครงสร7าง: Adjective / Adverb + er + than (Adj./Adv. ที่มีพยางค?เดียว)
more + Adjective / Adverb + than (Adj./Adv. ที่มีสองพยางค?ขึ้นไป)
เชUน Pug is smaller than Siberian.
Math is more difficult than English.
Jim works harder than his friend.
The boy ran faster than the girl.

3. การเปรียบเทียบขั้นสูงสุด (Superlative Degree) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบตั้งแตU 3 คน หรือ 3 สิ่งขึ้นไป

โครงสร7าง: the + Adjective / Adverb + est (Adj./Adv. ที่มีพยางค?เดียว)
the + most + Adjective / Adverb (Adj./Adv. ที่มีสองพยางค?ขึ้นไป)
เชUน Russia is the largest country in the world.
The shade of blue is the most beautiful color.
Everyone in the race ran fast, but Gina ran the fastest of all.
My mother drives the most carefully in our family.
