INVITATION TO A PANEL DISCUSSION AT THE 2024 SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF THE
DIRECTORATE OF RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION, COLLEGE OF MEDICINE, UNIVERSITY OF
NIGERIA ITUKU OZALLA CAMPUS, ENUGU.
The Directorate of Research and Publication, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, has the mandate to ensure
the development of Research capacity among the staff of the college, creating viable research environment as well as
generating and disseminating research findings for the improvement on the quality of academic of the students and
job performances of the staff. As a pathway to achieving these objectives, the Directorate, organizes annual
conference where most of the research works conducted by the students, and staff of the college, as well as allied
faculties and academic institution are presented, discussed and suggestions made on way forward.
Theme of the Conference: “Mitigating the Negative Impact of Health Sector Brain Drain: What are the research
Options” Sub-themes:
“Pushing the Boundaries of Ethics and Legal Aspects of Health Research”
“Appropriate Health Research Motivation and Incentives in a Fragile Economy”
“Medical Research Innovations: Intellectual Property and Patent Rights”

Fragile Economy
