Introduction
This Standard has been prepared by the Japan Industrial Standardization Association in accordance with the provisions of Article 12, Paragraph 1,
The Japan Auto Parts Industries Association (JAPIA) and the Japanese Standards Association (JSA) have submitted the draft industrial standard to th
The Japanese Industrial Standards Committee deliberated on the matter, and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry revised it.
It is.
This revised JIS D 2604:1998 and replaced it with this standard.
This Standard is a work protected by copyright law.
Please note that parts of this standard may infringe on patent rights, patent applications after publication, or utility model rights.
The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee call attention to the above.

This standard was established in 1961 and has since been revised six times. The last revision was in 1998.
However, it was later revised to reflect technological advances.
At present, no corresponding international standards have been established.
1 Scope of application
This standard applies to wheel cylinders for drum brakes (hereinafter referred to as wheel cylinders) that use non-mineral oil brake fluid in automo
This standard specifies the type of pressure cylinders used.

Four kinds
Wheel cylinder types are classified according to their operating conditions as shown in Table 1.
Table 1 - Types
kinds Classification
1 type Can be used under normal temperature operating conditions
2 types Can be used under high temperature operating conditions
3 types Can be used under special high temperature operating conditions
6 Performance
6.1 Component Performance
The performance of the main components of the wheel cylinder shall be as follows:
a) The performance of the rubber cup shall satisfy the requirements of JIS D 2605.
b) The performance of the rubber boot shall satisfy the requirements of JIS D 2608.
c) The performance of the piston spring shall satisfy the requirements of JIS B 2704-1.
6.2 Assembly performance
The performance of the wheel cylinder assembly shall be as follows:
The test liquid shall conform to JIS K 2233.
a) With the bleeder hole closed, the wheel cylinder is supplied with 100 kPa of air pressure from the joint hole into the cylinder body.
When the piston is gently moved back and forth several times, the piston operates smoothly and there is no air leakage from any part.
In addition, when the bleeder hole is opened, air must be able to escape.
b) When hydraulic pressure is applied to the cylinder body from the joint hole, the piston operates and the required
It has to generate force.
c) The wheel cylinder is filled with test fluid in the cylinder body, and 130 % of the maximum operating pressure is applied to the cylinder body.
When a hydraulic pressure of 10 ...
6.3 Low temperature operation
The low-temperature operation of the wheel cylinder is tested according to the provisions of JIS D 2605, 6.7 (cold leakage test).
There should be no leakage from the cup.
6.4 Operational Durability
The operational durability of the wheel cylinder was tested according to the provisions of JIS D 2605, 6.8 (operational durability test).
The operating durability specified in 4.2 (performance) of JIS D 2605 shall be satisfied.
There must be no harmful deformation, wear, defects, etc.
