 Proximity Hazards
Tower cranes must be located so that there is a clear at least 3 meters
(10 feet) clearance between the end of boom and the nearest obstacle
or building. In someone situations, aircraft warning light should be
fitted to the top of tower cranes. As far as possible, tower crane should
be sited to avoid loads being handled over occupied premises,
highways, and the route of aerial ropeway, other construction works, or
railways. The danger or from underground services, such as gas mains
electric cables, should not be overlooked. Precautions should be taken
to ensure that the tower crane standing is clear of any underground
services. Where this is not possible, the services should be adequately
protected to safeguard against any damage.
 Attachment of Load –Radius Indicator and Jib angle indicator
Load radius indicator should be attached to the main jib. For machine
having jibs capable of moving in the vertical plane, jib angle indicators
also are attached.
 Specialized Erector company for Tower Crane
Cranes shall be erected on site by specialize company and has a
commercial permission issued from Dubai Emirate Permitting to erect

 tower cranes. The contractor shall comply also the recommendation of
the manufacturing company regarding crane erection method.
