 Anti-Collision Device
When two or more tower cranes are installed within a limited area,
their action zones may overlap and give rise to the danger of collision. The
collision maybe resulted from the coming into direct contact between the
structural members of cranes, the rotating jibs of crane installed at the lower
position striking onto the hoisting rope of the higher crane or its suspended
load. The hoisting rope of a crane may entangle with certain parts of other
crane. The best solution is to eliminate any overlapping interference zones as
far as possible from both the standpoints of safety and smooth lifting
operation
Manufacturer instructions and operating manuals must be followed including
proper installation, calibration, inspection and maintenance of the anti-
collision system.
Continues audible and visual signals should be provided in the tower crane
operator’s cabin to remind the operator to slow down crane movement
when approaching a zone with possible collision risk.
 Automatic Safe Load Indicator
All types of crane, excepts those with maximum safe working load of 1 ton or
less or those operate with a grab or by electromagnetic means, shall be fitted
with an automatic safe load indicator. The automatic safe load indicator is
usually used in association with overloading cut-out device which be further
explain below:
