Petron XTRA Advance is a complex blend of petroleum-derived normal and branched-chain alkane,
cycloalkane, alkene, aromatic hydrocarbons and multifunctional additives. In general, the product
contains components that may be a significant health and safety hazard thus proper handling of
petroleum products and observing precautions must be observed. In addition to this, good standards of
industrial and personal hygiene must be maintained.

SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES

Eye Contact Rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water until irritation subsides.
If irritation persists, get prompt medical attention.

Skin Contact Remove contaminated shoes and clothing, and flush affected
areas(s) with large amounts of water. If skin surface is damaged,
apply a clean dressing and seek medical attention. If skin surface is
not damaged, cleanse affected area(s) thoroughly by washing with
mild soap and water or a waterless hand cleaner. If irritation or
redness develops, see medical attention. Remove contaminated
shoes and clothing and cleanse affected area(s) thoroughly by
washing with mild soap and water or a hand cleaner.

Ingestion Seek medical attention.

Inhalation If respiratory symptoms or other symptoms of exposure develop,

move victim away from source of exposure and into fresh air. If
symptoms persist, seek immediate medical attention. If victim is not
breathing, clear the airway and immediately begin artificial
respiration. If breathing difficulties develop, oxygen should be
administered by qualified personnel. Seek immediate medical
attention.

SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Flash Point, oC < -56

Extinguishing Media In case of fire, use foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical
extinguishers.

Special Fire-fighting Do not spray water directly on fire; product will float and could
Procedures reignite on the surface of the water. Highly flammable vapors which
are heavier than air may accumulate in low areas and/or spread
along the ground away from handling site. Flashback along vapor
trail may occur.

Unusual Fire Hazards Extremely flammable. Contains hazardous material. Firefighters

should consider protective equipment indicated in Section 9. Vapor is
flammable and heavier than air. Vapor may travel across the ground
and reach remote ignition sources, causing a flashback fire danger.

Decomposition Products Oxides of carbon, nitrogen and other gases are products of
combustion.
under Fire Conditions

SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Land Spill Taking normal safety precaution, eliminate sources of ignition.

Prevent additional discharge of material, if possible to do so without
hazard. For small spills, implement cleanup procedures. For large
spills, implement clean-up procedures and, if in public area, keep

public away and advise authorities. Prevent liquid from entering
sewers, water courses, or low areas. Contain spilled liquid with sand
or earth. Recover by pumping or with a suitable absorbent. If liquid is
too viscous for pumping, scrape up. Consult an expert on disposal
of recovered material and ensure conformity to local disposal
regulations.

Water Spill Use booms to confine spills immediately. Remove from water
surface by skimming or with suitable adsorbents. If allowed by local
authorities and environmental agencies, sinking and/or suitable
dispersants may be used in non-confined waters. Consult an expert
on disposal of recovered material and ensure conformity to local
disposal regulations.

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling Procedures Keep away from potential sources of ignition. Open container in a
well- ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapors. Keep containers
closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling. “Empty”
containers with retained product residue (liquid or vapor) can be
dangerous. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind or
expose containers to heat, flame, sparks, static electricity or other
sources of ignition; they may explode and cause death or injury.
Empty drums should be completely drained, properly bunged and
promptly returned to a drum re-conditioner, or properly disposed off.

Storage Procedures Do not store near potential sources of ignition. Store in well-
ventilated area.

SECTION 11: TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Basis for Assessment Information given is based on data on the components and the
toxicology of similar products.

Acute Toxicity

Gasoline Oral, LD50 14000 mg/kg

Dermal, LD50 >3750 mg/kg
Inhalation, LC50 >5.2 mg/L (exposure time: 4hrs)

Ethanol Oral, LD50 8350 mg/kg

Dermal, LD50 >20000 mg/kg
Inhalation, LC50 50-55 mg/kg (exposure time: 6hrs)

Skin Corrosion/Irritation Low order of toxicity under normal use. However, avoid prolonged or
repeated contact with the product to prevent defatting and dermatitis.
Furthermore, lead in the product can be absorbed through the skin
and accumulate in the body, affecting the blood, nerves, kidney and
the reproductive system.

Serious Eye Damage/Irritation May cause mild eye irritation with stinging and redness of eyes.

Respiratory/Skin Sensitization There was no evidence of skin sensitization when the product was
applied to human skin. Based on human experience, breathing of
vapors or mists may cause a temporary burning sensation to nose,
throat, and lungs.

Germ Cell Mutagenicity May cause heritable genetic damage.

Aspiration Hazard Ingestion is an unlikely event. However, accidental ingestion can

lead to vomiting and aspiration into the lungs.

Carcinogenicity Carcinogenic in animal tests. Chronic inhalation studies resulted in

liver tumours in female mice and kidney tumours in male rats.
Neither result considered significant for human health risk
assessment by the United States EPA and others. in-vitro or Did not
cause mutations in-vivo. Negative in inhalation developmental
studies and reproductive tox studies. Inhalation of high
concentrations in animals resulted in reversible central nervous
system depression, but no persistent toxic effect on the nervous
system. Non-sensitizing in test animals. Caused nerve damage in
humans from abusive use (sniffing).

Reproductive Toxicity No evidence of developmental toxicity was found in pregnant

laboratory animals (rats and mice) exposed to up to 9,000 ppm vapor
of unleaded gasoline via inhalation.

Specific Target Organ Toxicity Gasoline vapor acts as a central nervous system depressant.
Exposure to low concentrations may produce flushing of the face,
staggering gait, slurred speech and mental confusion. In high
concentrations, gasoline vapor may cause unconsciousness, coma
and possibly death resulting from respiratory failure and harmful

effects to the kidneys, pancreas and liver. Gasoline contains
aromatic hydrocarbons which may result in leukemia and other
hematopoietic changes.

SECTION 12: ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Ecotoxicological data have not been determined specifically for this product. Information given is based
on a knowledge of the components and the ecotoxicology of similar products.

Environmental Mobility More volatile component, highly volatile, will partition rapidly to air.
Not expected to partition to sediment and wastewater. Less volatile
component, low solubility and floats is expected to migrate from
water to land. Expected to partition to sediment and wastewater
solids.

Environmental Degradability Data have not been determined specifically for this product, but it is
expected that it will be inherently biodegradable. The more volatile
component is expected to degrade rapidly in air.

Ecotoxicity & Bioaccumulation Data have not been determined specifically for this product, but it is
expected to be harmful to aquatic organisms. May cause long-term
adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Majority of the
components has the potential to bioaccumulate. However,
metabolism or physical properties may reduce the bioconcentration
or limit bioavailabilty.

SECTION 13: DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Waste Disposal Material, if discarded, is expected to be hazardous waste due to

toxicity. Waste management should be in compliance with local and
national regulations.
