Activity Title: REMEDIAL READING THROUGH CATCH- UP
FRIDAYS

Objectives: This activity aims to provide learning activities to


learners for mastery of the least competencies specifically in
making connections between information viewed and
personal experiences.

Date: September 25, 2023-October 20, 2023


(FIRST QUARTER)

Venue: Amontay Elementary School

Target Participants Grade 6 Learners

Persons Involved: School Head, Grade 6 Teachers, Learners, Parents and


Stakeholders
Interventions: Using visual representation of oneself
Reading and re- reading familiar text/ sentences and reading
aloud
Reading, re- reading and listing of note details.
Visualizing the scenes, characters and setting in the story.
Monitoring and Evaluation The program activities have significantly improved the
reading proficiency level of learners, specifically in making
connections between information viewed and personal
experiences based on the results of the pupils’ first quarter
English MPS.

Monitoring and Evaluation The program activities have significantly improved the
reading proficiency level of learner specifically identifying the
purpose, structural and language features of various types of
information based on the result of the pupils’ second quarter
English MPS.

Finding clues about the meaning of the words through
listening.
Monitoring and Evaluation The program activities have significantly improved the
reading proficiency level of the learners, specifically inferring
the meaning of borrowed words using prefixes. based on the
result of the third quarter English MPS result.
