SCAFFOLDING SUPERVISOR APPOINTMENT

I, COREY TAYLOR the 16 (2) appointee of ABC Scaffolding hereby appoint you, TOM MORELLO, as
scaffolding supervisor for the Sandton Convention Center Project.

1. In terms of this appointment you are required to ensure that the design, erection, use and inspection of all
scaffolding comply with the requirements of SANS 10085.
2. You are further required to ensure that all scaffold erectors and team leaders are competent to carry out
their work and that a procedure is developed to ensure that no scaffolding is used before it has been
inspected and declared safe. Apart from the above-mentioned inspection, scaffolding must also be
inspected:
a. At least once a week;
b. After inclement weather, such as strong winds, electric storms or rainfall;
c. After any mishap resulting in jarring, tilting or overloading;
d. After alterations; and
e. Before dismantling to ensure that ties are in suitable positions for dismantling.
3. The results of all inspections, including details of any faults found and corrected, must be recorded in a
register, which must be available for inspection on the premises at all times.
4. Any problems which you may experience in the execution of this appointment must be reported to the
construction safety officer,
