Dear hiring committee,

I'm writing to express my interest in working with Drama Kids International. I believe my experiences
and skills, combined with my passion for the arts, make me a beneficial member to any team, and I
want to join yours.

This past year, I returned to the classroom to teach music to pre-k through 8th grade. I teach general
music, ensemble singing, theory, and piano to the lower grades. For the middle school students, I
teach a band elective and class piano. Outside of the classroom, I co-direct the yearly musical for
grades 5 - 8. This past year we presented The Sound of Music Youth Edition and next year will be
Peter Pan Jr.

As a youth minister, I designed weekly emails and social media posts to communicate with the youth
and their parents that included graphic designs created in Canva. I also wrote monthly articles for the
parish newsletter that included photographs that I shot at youth events. Parent communication was
crucial for this program as well as my current teaching position.

Prior to these appointments, I ran my private voice studio. It required me to foster clear and prompt
communication. I organized performances, volunteer drives, and service projects. I worked within
NEISD schools as well in my private home studio. During this time, I also worked as a teaching artist
with the Magik Theatre. While here I taught acting classes, play writing, and produced staged and
costumed musical theater scenes. I also took part in an after school program called Theater for the
Very Young, which was a pre-k program offered by the Magik for SAISD schools. I taught imaginative
play which helped the kids use their imaginations to create situations and act accordingly.

I am interested in this position because, I miss working with kids on theater. Once a year for the
school musical is not enough. The joy I get from watching children progress as artists is what keeps
me in education. I also appreciate that the lesson plans are already created, allowing me to do what I
do best, engage and educate. I have attached my resume and am excited to further discuss my work
