Cardiological Society of India, Odisha Chapter

Cardiological Society of India, Odisha Chapter is a branch of the national society ‘Cardiological Society of India’ head
quartered at Kolkata. This society is a pure academic body consisting of specialist doctors like cardiologists, cardiac
surgeons, physicians, paediatricians, residents and post graduate students interested in the field of Cardiology. It
functions according to guidelines provided by the parent society by office bearers elected from amongst the members
who serve on honorary basis.

The main objective of the society is to promote and exchange views and experience among the specialties in the
cardiovascular field. It works to keep the doctors both specialists and non-specialists informed regarding developments
in management of every aspect of heart diseases to update their knowledge and skill in this rapidly developing field of
cardiovascular sciences. The society also plays a vital role in creating public awareness in recognizing and preventing
heart diseases.

For more the last two and half decades, the society is spreading its objectives across the state by conducting academic
meetings and continued medical education programmes. It also conducts public education programs all over the state
with a purpose to make people aware of early identifying cardiovascular diseases and particularly educating them how
to prevent this dreaded disease. Every year an Annual Conference is held in the month of septembe-october. In the
conference top cardiologists who are experts in their respective fields, from outside the state and from abroad `are
invited as speakers to deliberate on various aspects of cardiac sciences from very basics to the most recent
developments. The conference includes various workshops, debates and live demonstrations of various procedures. 27
consecutive annual conferences were organized where highly reputed cardiologists are invited who interact with
physicians, surgeons, resident doctors and PG students from across the state helping to enhance their clinical acumen.
27 th annual conference was held in an online platform with highly reputed international faculty. The biannual election
took place in October, 2022 whre in the following office bearers took over for the coming two years.
