Theme: “Rebuilding Resilient Communities: Embracing Science & Technology for a Sustainable Future”

GENERAL GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS

1. Each official contestant should register in the Registration Link provided for every event on or before the set DATE.
Only the officially registered contestant/participants shall be entertained to join the different events. Failure to register
means subject for disqualification.
2. Each participant should submit a Parental Consent and Registration Form to qualify for the event.
3. Each event has unique mechanics and guidelines as well as the criteria for judging. It is advised that participants
should read them thoroughly and follow them strictly.
4. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
5. There shall be three (3) winners in every event, per level, every category.
6. The winning learners and coaches shall receive Certificates of Recognition. All participating learners and
coaches will receive Certificates of Participation.
7. This event is meant to showcase the potentials of all contestants, promote camaraderie as well as
develop proper attitude and good character among the participants. It is expected that everyone shall
observe honesty, respect and sportsmanship at all times.

STUDENT CATEGORY

I. SCIENCE QUIZ

A. Participants
1. One (1) contestant per grade level per school will register.

B. Registration
1. Registration of qualified participant for the DISTRICT LEVEL SCIENCE QUIZ should be made on or before 8:00
o’clock in the evening of November 20, 2023 for the finalization of the lists per event.
2. Registration link of participant for the District Science Quiz is ______________________________.

C. Coverage
The coverage of lessons for the Science Quiz District Level will be 1st to 4th Quarter of the MELCs.

D. Quiz Guidelines and Scoring System


1. The quiz will consist of 72 questions (24 easy, 24 average and 24 diffficult).
2. Two multiple-choice questions with four choices for each round will be prepared and printed by each coach.
References must be included and the prescribed template must be used. Answer key must be provided to the proctors
for checking.
3. Participants will answer all the questions prepared by the coaches.
4. Participants who answer correctly will earn points in each question. 1 point for easy, 2 points for average and 3
points for difficult questions.
5. In event of a tie, a clincher round will be conducted to break it. A question will be randomly selected from the
clincher questions prepared by the coaches until the tie is resolved.

II. DIGITAL POSTER-SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST

A. Eligibility
Participants shall be from Grades 4 to 6 (for Elementary Category)

B. Specifications
1. Poster-slogan design must be original and not previously published or have won in a contest.
2. It must promote the values depicted in the theme of the event.
3. It must follow the specifications:
 ePoster-Slogan size: W- 210mm H- 297mm
 File size: maximum file size is 4MB
 File format: save your file as PDF
4. Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Paint or any digital art software applications or media should be used.
5. Elements should not include clip arts, downloaded images, photos, brand name, logo, trademarks, and the like.
6. It should contain a combination of graphics and text.
7. Participant name or identifying mark must not appear on the ePoster-Slogan.
8. The Slogan should be written in English with not more than ten (10) words.
9. Each participating school should submit one entry only in soft copy (PDF format).

E. Submission of Output
1. Before the contest begin, there will be a short orientation from one of the TWG members/ facilitator among
participants about the Dos and Don’ts during the contest proper. The time allotted for sending the output will be
announced during the contest time.

3. Filename of the photo must be in the format “SURNAME, FIRST NAME_NAME OF THE SCHOOL”

F. Criteria for Judging


1. Entries shall be judged unanimously by the Board of Judges.
2. Entries must reflect the true feelings and thinking of the contestants and shall be judged according to the following
criteria:
Creativity 25%,
Visual Impact 15%,
Originality 30%, and
Relevance to the Theme 30%

G. Prizes
1. There shall be Three (3) winners in this Digital Poster-Slogan Making Contest.
3. The winning learners and coaches shall receive a Certificate of Recognition. All participating learners and coaches
will receive Certificate of Participation.

III. SCIENCE INVESTIGATORY PROJECT

TEACHER CATEGORY

I. STRATEGIC INTERVENTION MATERIALS (SIMS)

1. There shall be one (1) entry per grade level per school from Grades 3-6.
2. Presentation and defense shall not exceed five (5) minutes.
3. SIM papers must have the following parts and preliminaries.

4. Other attachments such as least learned competencies, t-test results, content validity and certifications should be
appended in the SIM paper.
5. Top three shall be given certificate of recognition.
7. Each participant is required to submit three (3) hard copies to the proctors.
