The previous lesson engages students in discussion and begins to define sex, gender,
gender role and sexuality by discussing the difference between sex and sexuality, which
allows the facilitator to determine correct knowledge including similarities and differences in
the way that men and women experience sexuality and common misconceptions about
sexuality. This gives them an idea to think about how and why various aspects of sexuality
blend together and explore how the varied dimensions of human sexuality influence
individual sexuality. By exploring your own dimensions of human sexuality, you may
understand the origins and nature of your sexual values, as well as the values of others.
LESSON 4
SELF
FAMILY PEERS
LESSON 5
Knowing that the family is the only group of people which we can relate when it
comes to your sexuality, how you feel and how you react to things around you and that,
your family will not judge you.
However, for a person who may have a different sexual identity than the rest of the
family members, growing up with a family which may have a different view or
indifference towards people with problem with their sexuality, this can result to that
person to feel left out, isolated or rejected. This may lead the person to be aloof and
discouraged and eventually he may hide his real feelings or his real sexual identity.
To promote the psychological health of that person, the parents and other family
members have to be more aware and sensitive to this kind of situation. Acceptance and
understanding are the key words for a better family relationships. This may lead to a
wholesome family and interpersonal connection. This can avoid worse case scenarios and
