 Introduction

Smart driving habits and good maintenance can prolong the life of a tyre.
However, wear and tear eventually catch up and they’re no longer fit for use. Car
owners have a choice of buying a new choice or opting for retreading, which can
be an efficient way of saving money. Retreading is an option for tyres that have
sustained some wear, but still have enough rubber on them to be useful for
driving.
Different type of retreading
Hot Retreading
 During hot retreading, the process
of applying the tread material
is virtually identical to the
production of a new tyre. The
tread material is taken directly
from the extruder and applied
to the buffed casing.
Afterwards the tread/casing
assembly is cured in a
vulcanisation mould with the
required tread pattern.
Cold Retreading
 “Cold” retreading involves vulcanization
without a mould at a temperature of
between 95 °C and 115 °C. The tire
is put together using a pre-
vulcanized tread liner (= new tread)
and a non-vulcanized cushion gum
layer. The bond between the
carcass, the cushion gum and the
precured tread is created in an
autoclave. Pre-cure retreading has
become fully established in the truck
tires sector since the introduction of
radial tires in the mid-1960s.

 Advantage of Retreading

 Retreads are quite safe and are being used in all kind of vehicles nowadays.
May it be taxis or trucks, school buses or military vehicles, retreading is
being used in all of them. Retreading is highly environment friendly. When
the existing tyres are made ready for further use, the manufactures save
landfill space. Also, it reduces carbon dioxide emmission and saves
millions of gallons of oil which is required to manufacture new tyres.
Therefore, when you get your old tyre retreaded instead of buying a new
one, you play a major role in saving the precious natural resources. There
are many economical benefits of retreading as the retreaded tyres are less
pricey in comparision with the new ones. This definitely helps you save a
considerable amount of money. You can retread your old tyre at least
twice or thrice and this helps you save upto 40% of your money every time
because if you go for a new set of tyres it will cost you almost double of
the price of a retread one.
 Disadvantag of Retreading

 Retreaded tyres are generally a lot less expensive than the new ones,
however, after the budget tyres have come into play, the scenario has
changed to a large extent. Now, it seems that budget tyres are even less
expensive than the retreaded ones and as they are freshly made tyres,
they obviously have better quality than the retreaded tyres. Hence, a
customer is more likely to prefer budget tyres to the retreaded ones. In
retreading, a new lease of rubber is put on the casing of a worn out tyre
without changing the cords of infrastructure. Hence, the quality of the
retreaded tyres always stays a lot down than that of the new tyres. No
matter how well it works after retreading, there has to be some issue with
a retreaded tyre.

 HATCH COMMAND

 Hatching is used in technical drafting to communicate that an area of the

drawing has a particular attribute. It indicates that a section cut through a
part is a particular material or attribute. For hatching, type H then press
ENTER key then type T then press ENTER key. Then a pop-up window will
appear on screen. Then we change pattern, colour, angle and scale
according to the requirements. Then click OK. If we have to edit the
hatching, type HEDIT then press ENTER key and click on the hatched area
and do the changes.

 LAYOUT

When we have to insert a diagram in required size of paper or with title box then
we use layout function. First, go to layout. Then right click on it and go to page
setup manager. Then go to modify and set the file type, paper size and
orientation of paper. Then right click on model view and delete it. Then create a
new model view by typing MV then press ENTER key. Then double click inside the
model view to activate it and set the desired scale and object for printout. Then
double click outside the model view to activate layout. Then CTRL + P and take
the print out.
 CONCLUSION

This report covered the preview of our learning path and study materials. The
use of AutoCAD has many advantages. It can help to reduce the time it takes to
produce the drawing needed in the work environment. AutoCAD software is the
most amazing range of mechanical computer aided design tool. It is now
considered to be the best according to industry standards that can be obtained
for a wide array of designing, Mechanical Engineering Services and other
industrial purposes.
