UniConn Operation Manual Addendum

Subject: Differential Pressure from Phoenix Interface Card/UniConn
Firmware: 1.200r4; StarView Version 3.000r1

Introduction

This document should be used in conjunction with UniConn Operation Manual Rev D (InTouch
Content Number 3953183), to supplement Section 7.2 – Phoenix Interface Card. This document will
explain how to view and set parameters for Differential Pressure – with emphasis on changes

Schlumberger Private
and addition to both the UniConn’s and StarView’s (formerly WellView) menu structure.

Hardware Requirement

• UniConn
• PIC (Phoenix interface card)

Firmware / Software Requirement

• UniConn firmware Version 1.200r4

• PIC firmware version - Any
• StarView (formerly Wellview) version 3.000r1

New Features/Control Functionality

• Added Differential Pressure reading and Alarming

• Added logging of PIC faults.

DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE

Differential Pressure measurements have been added to the Phoenix Interface Card (PIC) menu
in the MOTOR/VSD section of the UniConn.

• For XT, Select Type 1, Select Standard and CTS Double Pressure tools, Differential
pressure is calculated using [Discharge Pressure – Intake Pressure].

• For the Select Advance tool, Differential Pressure is calculated using [Discharge Pressure
– Remote 2 Pressure].

• Differential Pressure measurements are not available for Select Lite, CTS single pressure
and Ultra Lite tools.

• A set of parameters are included for low differential pressure alarming (DIFFP_LO)

• A set of parameters are included for high differential pressure alarming (DIFFP_HI)

To view Differential Pressure measurement in the UniConn, navigate to the MOTOR/VSD menu,
“Differential Pressure” is next after “Pump Discharge Pressure”.

In StarView, Differential Pressure (PDif) measurement is located below Discharge Pressure (Pd)
in the PHOENIX DHT area.

PIC Status/Fault Logging

UniConn now logs PIC Faults. “Tool Ok” will be logged once no faults are present, “Tool Open”,
“Tool Short”, “CL Not Set” will show up in the log once they occur. All other faults will show up
as ‘PIC Fault ##’. ## represents the fault code which is listed below:

PIC Fault Table
