List of NGO’s for Riayat
1. Family of disabled:
Family of Disabled (FoD) was founded in 1992 by Dr Rajinder Jahar who was rendered a
quadriplegic (paralysis of all the four limbs) for life by an injury to his cervical spine.
FoD strives to provide the right platform and opportunity to persons with disabilities
from poor socio-economic backgrounds to earn their livelihood and be economically
independent. Further, it promotes quality education amongst children, encourages
artists and artisans with disabilities to showcase their talent. FoD also has to its credit
the publishing India’s first magazine on Disability. You can ensure FoD continues to
serve and empower more people with disabilities.
This NGO mainly helps the disable people to earn livelihood, be independent and
encourage them to show their talent. Riayat also focus on giving employment benefits
with their production unit and we can keep our idea of adaptive clothing in front of
them.

2. VIKLANG SAHARA SAMITI DELHI
Viklang Sahara Samiti Delhi (VSSD) is a Non-Government organization working towards
the Welfare and Education of Person with Disabilities (PwDs) coming from economically
and socially deprived background since 1994.VSSD ensures providing opportunities to
every PwDs and underprivileged youth irrespective of their caste, creed, gender,
religion, status, etc. provided with quality of Vocational Training and proper guidance in
an appropriate environment for their overall growth. Recently, our Vocational Training
Centers are reaching towards their respective targets of providing committed services
to PwDs and with an aim to empower them socially and economically through gainful
employment. For that, we are making our efforts to build skills through Vocational
Training to the students of the rural as well as the slum areas of Delhi and NCR.
Our project can allign with them and showcase them our method of adaptive clothing
and empowering them and making their life easy and better.

3. Samarthanam Trust for Disabled
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled is a National Award winning NGO established in the
year 1997 by Founder Managing Trustee Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar and his
schoolmate and childhood friend, Late Sugur Paramashivaiah Nagesh.
Samarthanam,one of the biggest NGOs in India, works for the empowerment of persons
with disabilities and the underserved through its diverse initiatives focused on
providing quality education, accommodation, nutritious food, vocational training and
placement based rehabilitation. It facilitates opportunities to enable persons with
disabilities and the underserved to keep pace with the rest of the society.
Today, Samarthanam Trust stands to be a complete solution provider by supporting
education and livelihood needs of persons with disabilities and those from
underprivileged backgrounds. The organization also facilitates direct livelihood
opportunities to hundreds of persons with disabilities and women in distress through
its Social Enterprises.

Government Schemes for Riayat
1. VIKAAS (Day Care)
This is a Day care scheme, primarily to expand the range of opportunities available
to a person with disability for enhancing interpersonal and vocational skills as they
are on a transition to higher age groups. The centre will also offer caregiving support
to Person with Disability (PwD) during the time the PwD is in the Vikaas centre. In
addition it also helps in supporting family members of the PwDs with disabilities
covered under the National Trust Act to get some time during the day to fulfil other
responsibilities. RO should provide day-care facilities to PwDs for at least 6 hours in
a day (between 8 am to 6 pm) along with age specific activities. Day care should be
open for at least 21 days in a month.

2.PRERNA (Marketing Assistance)
Prerna is the marketing assistance scheme of National Trust with an objective to
create viable and widespread channels for sale of products and services produced by
Person with disability (PwD) covered under National Trust Act. This scheme aims at
providing funds to participate in events such as exhibitions, melas, fairs, etc. to sell
the products made by PwDs. The scheme also provides an incentive to the Registered
Organisation (RO) based on the sales turnover of the products made by PwDs.
National Trust shall fund RO participation in national, regional, state and district level
events such as fairs, exhibitions, melas etc. for marketing and selling products and
services prepared by PwDs. However, at least 51% of employees of these work
centres should be PwDs with disabilities covered under National Trust Act.
Through this Riayat can collaborate with disable people and teach them the
adaptive clothing and this scheme helps them to sell their products. This will be
beneficial for both.
