Preface
Use of any computer programs or software supplied by TPS or downloaded from a TPS website (the
“Software”) in connection with the product constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in this
Manual and an agreement to abide by these Terms and Conditions. The user is granted a personal, non-
exclusive, non-transferable license to use such Software under the terms stated herein and in any case only
with a single product or single computer. You may not assign or transfer the Software or this license without
the express written consent of TPS. This license is effective until terminated. You may terminate the license
at any time by destroying the Software and Manual. TPS may terminate the license if you fail to comply with
any of the Terms or Conditions. You agree to destroy the Software and manual upon termination of the use
of the product. All ownership, copyright and other intellectual property rights in and to the Software belong
to TPS. If these license terms are not acceptable, return any unused software and manual.
Confidentiality
This Manual, its contents and the Software (collectively, the “Confidential Information”) are the confidential
and proprietary information of TPS. You agree to treat TPS’ Confidential Information with a degree of care
no less stringent that the degree of care you would use in safeguarding your own most valuable trade
secrets. Nothing in this paragraph shall restrict you from disclosing Confidential Information to your
employees as may be necessary or appropriate to operate or care for the product. Such employees must
also keep the Confidentiality Information confidential. In the event you become legally compelled to disclose
any of the Confidential Information, you shall give TPS immediate notice so that it may seek a protective
order or other appropriate remedy.
Safety
Improper use of the product can lead to injury to persons or property and/or malfunction of the product.
The product should only be repaired by authorized TPS warranty service centers. Users should review and
heed the safety warnings in an Appendix.
Miscellaneous
The above Terms and Conditions may be amended, modified, superseded, or canceled, at any time by TPS.
The above Terms and Conditions will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the
State of California, without reference to conflict of laws.

This manual uses the following conventions:
Supplementary information that can have an adverse effect on system operation, system performance,
data integrity, measurements, or personal safety.
Notification that an action has the potential to result in system damage, loss of data, loss of warranty,
or personal injury.
Sitelink3D is an information and communications technology that enables users to monitor, communicate, or
transfer files to each other. Sitelink3D has remote troubleshooting capabilities to support personnel in the need
to access or change settings from a remote location.
This manual describes how to install the SL-100, radio antenna, and cables, and how to configure a unit.
Introduction
• 3DMC upgrade to:

• SIM Card (SIM APN, User Name, Password)

When working with multiple SL-100s at one time, be careful not to mix bases as the unit's serial
number and other important information is marked on the label affixed to the base.

The Sitelink3D web portal allows dealers and customers to setup and monitor new clients, equipment, project sites,
and reporting criteria.

Convention Description
Activities Activities are user-defined terms used for reporting purposes (i.e. Rough Grading, Fine
Grading, Stake Checking).
Association An Association is either the Dealer’s company or the Customer’s company.
Clients Clients are the items, or products, used to connect to Sitelink (SL-100, 3DMC, Pocket 3D, and
3D Office).
Code A Code is a user-defined abbreviation or code-name used for reporting purposes (e.g. An
Activity is Fine Grading. The Code for this is FG).
Customer This User can be considered the manager of the contracting company, and will setup the Site
Administrators Engineer with access to the sietlink3D web portal.
Customers Customers are the companies that the Topcon Dealer serves. This can be considered to be
the contractor.
Dashboard The Dashboard page displays view of the project site where Users view project layers, line-
work, and machines. Users can also view a Google map with the project site to show its
relationship to the surrounding properties.
Dealer Administrators Dealer Administrators are managers of Dealers, and are the first Users granted access to the
Sitelink3D web portal. Dealer Administrators then set up subsequent Dealer Administrators
and Dealers.
Dealers Dealers are in direct contact with Customers, and set up his/her Customer Administrators
with access to the Sitelink3D web portal.
Delays Delays are user-defined terms used for reporting purposes (i.e. Refueling, Maintenance)
Deployments Deployments is the name assigned to the network server running the Sitelink3D webportal.
Downloads The Downloads page is where the user will find helpful files to download.
Machines Machines are user-defined names for equipment tracked by Sitelink3D for reporting purposes
(i.e. Frank’s Grader, Range Pole #3, PC200 Excavator).
Materials Materials are user-defined terms used for reporting purposes (i.e. Sand, Stone, Asphalt)
Operators Operators are user-defined personnel that run the equipment and are utilized for reporting
purposes. Operators can be set up with a password for logging into Sitelink3D on their 3DMC
or Pocket 3D application.
Project Files Project Files are site project files (.TP3).
Quota Quotas are the maximum number of sites/machines that may be setup.
– A Site Quota is the number of customer sites that can be setup by the Dealer.
– A Client Quota is the number of Sitelink3D licenses purchased (3DMC and/or Pocket
3D). One license equals one Machine Quota available to the User.
Registrations From the Registrations page, Users generate a unique One Time Registration (OTR) Code for
each Sitelink3D Client (product).
Reports The Reports page displays a summary of the reports created by Sitelink3D (This feature will
be available soon).
Roles Roles are access levels granted to each User: Dealer Administrator, Dealers, Customer
Administrator, Sitelink3D Online, or Sitelink3D Enterprise.
Sitelink3D Online Sitelink3D Online are project leaders or site supervisors/foremen. They typically set up
reporting criteria, Operators, and project files.
Sites Sites are the areas where the Customers do the physical work, such as a job site.
Subscription Menu utilized to activate subscriptions for Sitelink3D or Sitelink3D Enterprise.
Types Types are user-defined terms for the types of Machines in use (i.e. Bull Dozer, Excavator,
Dump Truck).

Convention Description
Users Users are personnel who have access to the Sitelink3D web portal. Each user for the
Sitelink3D web portal is granted one of four permission levels with specific access
permissions, designated by the following:
– Level 1: SiteLink3D Online
– have access to all menus in the Sitelink3D web portal, but cannot view or add
other Users.
– Level 3: Dealers
– access to all menus in the Sitelink3D web portal
– view other Users associated within their organization
– add other Dealers, Customer Administrators, or Sitelink3D Online as new
Users.

Red menu buttons are located at the bottom of Sitelink3D web portal home page. These menus may also be
accessed anytime by clicking on the gray Site Map button at the top middle of the page.

Dashboard
The Dashboard screen provides real time views of specific Project Sites, the Project Layers, and the Sitelink3D-
enabled machines.

Project File
The Project File menu enables users to upload a new project file.

Registration Keys/Registrations
The Registration Key page enables users to register new hardware or software, and provides the required
One Time Registration (OTR) Codes needed to enable Sitelink3D.

1. Click the Register Sitelink3D Client to display the Register Sitelink3D Client page.
2. Choose the Customer from the drop down menu. This feature is not available for Dealers or Customer
Administrators.
3. Select Machine. Machine names are created in the Machine menu. Machine names are unique to the
customer.
4. Choose the Client Type from the drop-down menu (3DMC, 3D Office, Pocket 3D, or
SL-100).
5. Click Create New Registration Key to generate a new OTR Code for that client.
A new OTR Code must be generated for each client (product) that utilizes Sitelink3D. This code
may only be used one time. If necessary, a new OTR code may be generated.
6. At the 3DMC, Pocket 3D, 3D Office, or the SL-100 web interface prompt, enter the new OTR Code.

The Clients page enables users to define the machines to be monitored.

Users
The Users page enable users to define new Users. All User levels can access this page and activate new users
except Sitelink3D Online. An existing User can create a new user with a similar permission level or below by
clicking the Add New User button at the bottom of the page.

The Downloads page lists any software/firmware downloads for Sitelink3D.

2. Ensure the following information and press OK:
• IP address: 192.168.0.10
• Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0,
• Default Gateway and Preferred DNS: 192.168.0.1.
In the default configuration, Allow Roaming is checked to maximize coverage. Check with the
Network Provider regarding roaming fees, as roaming fees may apply.
The larger the signal strength value the better the connection. A value less than -100dBm
(negative 100dB) indicates that there is poor network coverage or issues with antenna type or
mounting location. Anything greater than -100dB (negative 100dB) suggests good network
coverage.
The GPRS Status page does not automatically update. While waiting for the Status to display
Connected, it is necessary to tap Refresh on the browser from time to time.

Configure Sitelink3D Server
Ensure the Server Address and Port are set to match the Sitelink3D Site IP Address and Port
that is provided by the Sitelink3D Server Administrator. If the Server Address and Port are not
set correctly, the Connected to... status will not appear. See Figure 40
If using GPS corrections from the Sitelink3D Server, the Sitelink3D administrator must configure
the server to output GPS corrections.
Sitelink3D Menus
To access the various Sitelink3D menus, including network setup, click on
Topcon LogoToolsSitelink3D.

5. Use the on-screen keyboard to change the server address to the IP address/port number supplied by the
Sitelink3D server administrator. Tap OK.
Prior to Setup
• The Sitelink3D Web Portal can be found at www.Sitelink3D.net.
• Topcon Dealers are provided access to the Sitelink3D Web Portal via the Topcon Options Group.
• Sitelink3D Customers are provided access to the Sitelink3D Web Portal via their local Topcon Dealer.
• One Time Registration (OTR) Codes are required for Sitelink3D setup, for each device using it. OTR codes can be
generated from the Sitelink3D Web Portal.
• An OTR Code is required for each SL-100 used.
• Each software utility running Sitelink3D (3D Office, 3DMC, Pocket 3D) requires an OTR Code.

messages, connecting to machines remotely for troubleshooting, etc.
In order to use Sitelink3D in 3D Office, you must start the OpenVPN GUI program each time the
computer opens.
4. Obtain the eight-digit OTR Code for 3D Office on the www.Sitelink3D.net website by creating a new client
registration (“Client Registrations / Registrations” on page 19).

6. Select Run as Administrator. This is only required the one time the OTR Code is entered. After this
instance, open 3D Office normally.
7. Run as Administrator.
8. Select the relevant Site project (Sitelink3D server details are stored in the TP3 file).
9. Open 3D Office and select ProjectOptionsSitelink3D Server tab.
10. Set Server (primary) to:
• IP address: 10.0.0.1
• Port: 21211
11. Select Registration.
12. Enter the eight-digit OTR code for 3D Office. This is only performed once.
Once 3D Office is registered with the OTR Code, use Sitelink3D to monitor the equipment on the
job site, access the control box remotely, and send messages and files. In order to utilize these
features, open the *.tp3 job file used by the equipment being connected.
