How can I use this with my children?

All you need is a yoga mat or old towel,

a patch of soft ground, and a sense
Parent Guide
of fun to get your child involved in
these activities. A little ray of sunshine
may help too!

How does this help my children’s learning?

Yoga is a wonderful exercise that may

help build muscle, practise balancing
skills, give children a sense of calm and
develop gross motor skills.

Ideas for further learning:

Challenge your child to see how long

they can hold their yoga pose for. Young
children may only make 5 seconds, but
older ones may get to a whole minute.
Garden Yoga Cards
Yoga is a wonderful exercise that helps
children build gross motor skills, practise
mindfulness, stretch their muscles and
develop balance skills. We’ve put
together some garden-themed yoga
poses you can do with your child on
a sunny day in the great outdoors.

Encourage your child to hold the

pose as long as they can, and to keep
breathing deeply throughout. Your
child may become better at balancing
and focusing the more they practise
these exercises.

and over again.
