Ⅰ. 대학소개
1. 600년의 역사를 이어온 대학
성균관대학교는 1398년 조선왕조 때 설립되어, 1953년 대학원을 설치하며 종합대학으로
승격되었습니다. 한국의 ‘실리콘벨리’라 불리는 수원에 위치한 자연과학캠퍼스는 1978년
문을 열었습니다. 1996년에는 삼성그룹이 경영에 참여하여 새로운 성균관대 발전의 시대를
함께 열어가고 있습니다.

1. 모집학과
‣ 학과별 TOPIK 요건이 다를 수 있으므로 유의하시기 바랍니다. 한국어연수 종료 시까지 학과의 TOPIK
요건을 충족하여야 최종 진학이 가능합니다.
(별도 TOPIK 요건이 기재되지 않은 학과의 요건은 TOPIK 3급입니다)
‣ TOPIK 5급 이상 취득하여 한국어연수과정 면제가 가능한 선발 장학생 중, 학과 TOPIK 요건을 충족한
경우 조기진학이 가능합니다. 하지만 학과 TOPIK 요건을 충족하지 못한 경우, 한국어연수 기간 중 해당
요건을 충족하여야 최종 진학이 가능합니다.
【 박사과정 추가 안내사항】 ※ 모든 학과에 해당하며, 학사와 관련된 세부사항은 학과별 문의
‣ 대학원과정 수업연한 : 석사과정, 박사과정 모두 2년으로 동일
· 박사과정의 경우, 박사수료(보통 수업연한 2년에 해당) 직후 연속으로 4학기의 연구등록을 해야 함.
다만, 4학기 경과 전 학위를 취득한 자에게는 잔여기간의 연구등록 면제
· 이에 박사과정의 경우, 정부초청장학생 수학연한(장학기간)인 3년까지는 등록금 및 생활비를 지원받을 수
있으며, 장학기간 이내에 학위를 취득하지 못하여 추가등록이 필요한 경우 해당 등록금은 본교에서 지원

Ⅰ. SKKU Overview
1. Over 600 Years of Academic History
SKKU was founded in 1398 during the Joseon Dynasty and was promoted to a
comprehensive university opening the graduate schools in 1953. Natural Sciences
Campus opened in 1978 in Suwon, known as the Silicon Valley of Korea. Samsung
Group joined the University Foundation in 1996 opening a new era for SKKU’s
innovative advancements.

‣ Please note that TOPIK requirements are different by departments. Departments’ TOPIK
requirements should be met by the completion of the Korean program in order to
advance to SKKU degree programs.
(TOPIK lv.3 or above is required for departments without specific remarks)
‣ Admitted scholars with TOPIK lv.5 or above may advance to SKKU degree program only
when the scholar also qualifies the TOPIK requirement set by the department. Scholars
should meet the departments’ TOPIK requirements by the completion of the Korean
program in order to advance to SKKU degree programs.
【 Notice for PhD Candidates】 ※ applicable for all departments
‣ Length of Coursework for PhD and Master’s Program : 2 years
· PhD students should continue 4 semesters (2 years) for research after the 2-year coursework.
However, student, conferred with the PhD degree before completing the 4 semesters, will be exempt
from the remaining research semesters.
· PhD-GKS scholars will be sponsored by NIIED for tuition and living expenses for the 3-year scholarship
period. However, during the remaining research semesters after the scholarship period, scholars will
only be sponsored for tuition by SKKU (living expenses will not be included)

1. Dorm : SKKU GKS scholars living in SKKU dorms will receive 200,000 KRW per month

2. GKS-G Merit-Based Scholarship: Selected each semester based on the academic GPA,
