On this slide you will be explaining the purpose of both assignment 1 and its link to ass 2 briefly i.e., both assignments offer advice to your chosen
entrepreneur about expanding their enterprise internationally to a target country [the same country you targeted in Ass 1]. Both the report Ass 1 and
your situational analysis presented in your presentation for Ass 2 are the role of a consultant strategist advising the entrepreneur and their
stakeholders on the veracity of expanding the enterprise/organisation internationally.
1.SWOT Analysis – Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors affecting the enterprises’ expansion internationally. Opportunities and Threats are
external factors affecting the enterprises’ expansion internationally. NB: remember, that an Opportunity [in this instance expansion internationally,
may also be a Threat to the enterprises’ stability and success].
2.Knowledge Analysis [Knows 4 Stage Analysis] – read Sarah Parker (2015) article to understand and apply the knowledge analysis she devised.
3.PESTLE Analysis – [external analysis, links to internal ‘Opportunities and Threats’ analysed in your SWOT Analysis (Humprey’s, A. 1970). A
PESTLE analysis is management framework and diagnostic tool. The outcome of the analysis will help you to understand factors external to your
organisation which can impact upon strategy and influence business decisions – for example whether to expand internationally.
4.Porters Five Forces Analysis – This model is a classic model that organisations use to assess their competitive environment and make informed
decisions. As the name suggests, there are five factors that make up Porters Five Forces. They are all external, so they have little to do with the
internal structure of a company.
5.Strategies – What strategies are appropriate for the enterprise you are investigating? Your suggestions here will echo what you have found when
conducting your ‘Situational Analysis’ i.e., SWOT; Knowledge Analysis; PESTLE and Porters Five Forces Analysis.
6.Recommendations – Conversely, following your thorough situational analysis on the topic of the chosen enterprise’s expansion internationally, you
may conclude that on a balance of probabilities the enterprise should delay or cancel proposed expansion. In this case you will need to evidence why
you are making this recommendation, academically referenced throughout.
Your conclusion should sum up the findings of your investigation into your chosen enterprise’s expansion internationally. A conclusion is a
reiteration or restatement of the overall topic. A summary of the main points of your presentation which is a situational analysis, providing strategy
and recommendation to your chosen enterprise on their aspirations to expand internationally.
