I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of the integration of social science perspective and
community action initiatives
B. Performance Synthesize the integrative experience of implementing community-action initiatives applying
Standard social sciences’ ideas and methods
C. Learning Competency Explain the importance of studying community dynamics and community action in relation to
based on MELCs: applied social sciences and the learners’ future career options (HUMSS_CSC12-IIIa-c-1)
D. Learning Objectives: At the end of this lesson, the students are expected to:
a) Understand the importance of community dynamics and community action.
b) Identify key elements of community dynamics and explain how community action can bring positive
change and the relevance of these topics to their future career options.
c) Demonstrate their understanding through active participation and engagement in various activities
throughout the lesson.

A. Topic: Importance of understanding community dynamics and community action.

MOTIVATION – PICTURE ANALYSIS

 Students analyze images related to community action and discuss their interpretations
 Begin the lesson by asking students to brainstorm what they think community dynamics mean and how
community action can make a difference.
 Encourage students to share their thoughts with the class to gauge their prior knowledge and generate
interest in the topic.

C. Analysis – PROCESS QUESTIONS


The students will answer the following questions:

 How did you find the activity being done?


 From the activity being done, what do you think are the things we will be talking today?
 What are you prior knowledge about the words you act in the activity?

D. Abstraction

 The class will be divided into 3 groups and will choose 1 representative to share it with the class. Each
group will have the K-W-L Chart and will be given the Supporting Material 1(Community Dynamics),
Supporting Material 2 (Community Action) and Supporting Material 3 (the role of Community in Social
Change handouts)
 Students fill out what they Know, Want to know, and Learned about community dynamics and engagement
discusses the impact of community dynamics on promoting social change and sustainable development.
 The teacher will discuss how community dynamics and engagement is crucial for applied social sciences
and future career success. By actively participating in community actions, students can develop essential
skills and perspectives that benefit both personal growth and societal well-being.
 Reflect on how understanding community dynamics can impact future career choices and opportunities.

E. Application

 Divide students into small groups and assign each group a scenario related to community dynamics and
action. Ask them to analyze the scenario and come up with potential solutions or actions that could be
taken by the community. This activity promotes collaboration and critical thinking skills.

F. Generalization

 Conclude the lesson by having each group present their scenario analysis to the class. Facilitate a
discussion on the different approaches and solutions proposed. Emphasize the importance of community
collaboration and action in creating positive change.

IV. EVALUATION – Essay Writing


 The teacher will have a short quiz.

Instruction:
In a ¼2 sheet of paper, Explain how community dynamics can influence the success of community
actions and initiatives. Encourage them to provide examples to support their explanations.

 Research and read about Various Perspectives, like Social Sciences, Institutions, Civil Society.
