bake a classic chocolate cake from scratch.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Gather Ingredients
o 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
o 1 and 1/2 cups sugar
o 3/4 cup cocoa powder
o 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
o 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
o 1 teaspoon salt
o 2 large eggs
o 1 cup whole milk
o 1/2 cup vegetable oil
o 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
o 1 cup boiling water
2. Preheat the Oven
o Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round
baking pans.
3. Mix Dry Ingredients
o In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder,
baking soda, and salt.
4. Add Wet Ingredients
o Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix until well
combined.
5. Add Boiling Water
o Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.
6. Bake the Cake
o Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until
a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Cool and Frost
o Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them to a wire
rack to cool completely. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
