I am a final-year undergraduate student at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi pursuing
Bachelors of Management Studies specializing in Finance. I wish to put forward my candidature for the Financial
Research Associate role at D. E. Shaw India. The role would provide me with the perfect opportunity to work with a team
which would help me expand my horizon in the domain of finance and combine my passion for problem-solving, analysis
and research.

Throughout my journey in school and college, I have been focused towards academics while also giving equal importance
to extracurriculars. At school, I secured 96.2% in Class 12th (School Rank 5) & received a scholarship. I also secured an
All India Rank 17 in the DUJAT examination given by 25000+ candidates and took admission in SSCBS where I have
continued to focus on academics, securing an overall GPA of 8.36 till the 2nd semester.

I have showcased exceptional performance in my co-curriculars as well. I was proud to represent my nation in the High
Bridge Global Case Competition securing Global Rank 6. I have participated in a variety of business plan and case
competitions, earning 10+ podium finishes at some of India's finest universities like IIM Indore, IIM Kashipur, Hindu
College, etc. I secured a National Rank 6 in BrAINWARS Management Case Study Competition organized by Bain &
Company with 4800+ participants from top undergrad schools in India. These accolades in case competitions helped me
hone my ability to comprehend complex issues and come up with in-depth solutions. I was also a part of the school band
where I was the lead guitarist, participating in competitions all over Delhi NCR.

I interned at Feeding India (CSR arm of Zomato), where my team & I conducted primary research to develop a strategy to
award the wards of the delivery partners with a scholarship worth Rs.10,000.

I’ve interned at an early-stage VC: MountTech Growth Fund, a CAT II AIF focussed on the Indian Defence & Deep Tech
sector with Former Invest India CEO Mr. Deepak Bagla, Former IAF Chief RKS Bhadauria among others as advisors. I
performed industry research and scouted, evaluated & talked to the founders of promising startups such as Astrome, QNu
Labs etc.

I’ve also interned at startups like NewsReach (featured in Forbes Asia 2022), Urvann (Backed by Inflection Point Ventures)
& The Yarn Bazaar (Featured on Shark Tank India) where I worked with the founders/top executives at the company to do
market research, perform market sizing, solve business problems, prepare pitch decks & deal with clients & partners of
the company. I was able to learn how to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment & develop an
entrepreneurial mindset to solving problems.

My stint as the President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization, the world’s largest network of entrepreneurs,
has been highly rewarding. I have spearheaded several projects at the organization, such as “Venture X”, an annual
entrepreneurship summit, “Pulse”, our annual publication on entrepreneurship, and the CEO DU Podcast. This stint
helped me polish my leadership, negotiation and managerial skills.

I want to be a part of the culture at D. E. Shaw, where diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the company's value
system. Being a keen learner and an observer has motivated me to excel in every walk of life, be it academics or co-
curricular, and also establish soft skills of empathy and teamwork. With the skills that I possess, I will be able to add value
to D. E. Shaw. I hope you will consider me as a prospective candidate for this role.
